JS41 Speed & Altitude problem

Featured Replies

Hello,A very strange thing is happening to my JS41 on FSX - suddenly for no apparent reason (usually at cruise altitudes) the aircraft lurches to the left (or right) the speed drops to the low speed danger red zone then into the 'overspeed' zone - followed by a rapid climb, the instruments go crazy -then it settles back & then the same thing happens all over again & again until I get to low altitudes - very odd!Has anyone come across this before?Any suggests to fix this hopefully?Other than this problem it flies beautifully, I love it.Hope someone can assist - thanksIan Zetland

Using real world weather? That's why.Either use DWC from ASE, or better yet, smoothing from FSUIPC (registered).Unfortunately, the way FS handles winds can mean abrupt changes, which cause what you are describing. It's not a problem with the aircraft.

Sadly, I have wasted a many hours with the NGX on this problem, before I bought FSUIPC. Being a REX user, I love the textures, and am holding out for the update that is suppose to fix the weather engine.FSUIPC saved me flying with REX. Before I got it...I used to have to turn off REXWeather at cruise and use a preset weather profile until I started my descent, then turn it back on.FSUIPC is more than just weather control also....that program is one of the must haves in my list for FSX.

Use REX for textures, but not for weather.Get ASE or AS2012 for weather control that actually works (as good as you are going to get in FSX anyway). AS2012 can also do textures which are nearly as good (but easier to use) then REX, but both allow REX testures to be used aswell.

yea or you can wait for the rex essentail pack to be released which wil be hope fully soon

Same here...I have my finger on the trigger. If the REX update to essentials does not fix winds aloft and the high altitude flights, I will be the new owner of ASE.Doing flights with my FedEx buddies, or in the flight club, and have 180 degree weather differences than everyone else is not my idea of fun.....Its sad too, because I really love REX textures...

I used to be a die hard REX user. Since AS2012 I don't ever use it anymore. The winds are very good in AS2012. Have not had one bad flight because of severe wind shifts or temp changes. The textures are really good too.

It is not either/or.You CAN use REX textures with ASE or AS2012 weather.
