Flight is about flight experience not about how to operate a plane

I am certainly NOT their targeted audience but I have really enjoyed Flight for the last few weeks. It's so stable and the flight dynamics are great. FSX feels and looks OLD now after using this. +The terrain/scenery is stunning to say the least.Fred.
You should also give Aerofly FS a try. I dont know about flight dynamics, but it makes Flight already look very old. And it also has bigger area, whole Switzerland modeled.

While ever the SDK is not publically available, and while ever Microsoft insist on owning and controlling all DLC and allow developers by invite only, prohibit freeware, this simulator, and any add-ons for it, will not evolve in any way other than a commercial one. Which means that the only products we'll see released are ones that appeal to mass audiences.I don't doubt that the simulator is a good one, at the core, and that a lot can be achieved with it. But Microsoft don't want to allow free and open competetion - we are seeing the old Microsoft anti-competitive behavior re-surfacing - it seems to be part of Microsoft's unspoken philosophy- the same ingrained tendency that led to the anti-trust litigation back in the 1990s.A reasonable approach would be for MS to provide major packages, such as ATC, Weather and other advanced features, while leaving the door open for 3rd Party developers to come up with add-ons. Business models like their current one just won't thrive.

I agree that would be a reasonable approach to take, or at least it would be one to my benefit... Given that MS have been very tight-lipped about their planned strategy going forward, it may just be that at some point some means for third-parties to enter the marketplace may be made available.

Then why not make a Harry Potter broomstick simulator instead? The target audience would certainly find that flight "experience" much more fun.Edit: Oops, I hope I didn't give MS any ideas for DLC: Harry Potter Broomstick: 600 Microsoft Points.
Compared to my experience with the gaming aspect of Flight. That would be a much much more entertaining GAME! If they include a broom in the DLC I may just reinstall it.
