March 31, 200422 yr It's simple Fred, you or I do not have any idea who some of these folks are who post on internet forums, but I do know that what certain posters say or the lack of and by this is a means to come to my conclusions. Jonny flyer can be 15 or 60 and claim whatever he likes but the only way to tell is by what they write. You see people can talk all they want about this or that but what is this information based upon? Personal opinions? One does not have to be an astronomer to know that the sun is 93,000,000 miles away do they? Same goes for any other field of study. If someone makes a claim about something then they should back it up, if not by their own experiences then by quoting some material or knowledgeable person. So sure people can write tutorials themselves having never even sat in the aircraft they are writing about as long as they are accurate Fred. So joe pilot who happens to be 13 states that a certain airliner is the best ever and HE thinks it's the very best made, all others are silly. Great, opinions are like .... and I included mine in this if you did not notice but I do know that for which I speak..... [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. March 31, 200422 yr Mike - Have you considered going to a NetCafe with a high speed connection to download it? Find one with broadband & a CD burner, download it and off you go :) Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
April 1, 200422 yr Just a note, I remember that the PMDG guys came up with a solution for modem downloaders ... you might want to send a note to support or post in their forum before paying the shipping costs ...
April 1, 200422 yr Hi Tim/JohnJohn, I already have PMDG737 installed and a broadband connection so I don't need the internet cafe but thanks for the suggestion though. By the way, that was a really smart Virgin Blue livery you produced for the 738.Tim, if you are located somewhere near Lower Hutt (and I thought you might be), let me know and I will be happy to download it for you and cut it to CD. I have a 10MBit broadband connection for the rest of this month and a 10GB traffic limit so I can spare the bandwidth. Next month I revert to a 2Mbit/5GB plan. PM me if you want more help.
April 1, 200422 yr *slaps head* :-lol I meant to say Tim! Sorry Mike :)I did some VB's for the -700s too :-hah Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
April 1, 200422 yr ChrisYou certainly started a thread here didn't you.I just read a post referring to Johnny Pilot etc and the opinions of such pilots and their worth.Take it from me, anytime you write into these forums you will garner so much opinion both good and bad that sometimes it will make your head swirl.I myself have just turned fifty and have flown sims since I bought my first PC over 12 years ago.I long to get my PPL and this year will have my first introductory flight, up until three weeks ago when I bought the PMDG 737 I always flew in FS ( all incarnations) with an already started up and system go aircraft, not really bothering with all the switches and doodads. That, never, I don't think has made me less of a pilot or one that doesn't take simming seriously. We all come to this genre of gaming from diffrent perspectives whether aged 15 or 50 and I believe all have a contribution to make and offer regardless of our expertise.Wycliffe
