PRUNING VIEWS IN FSX

Featured Replies

Thanks for that Jim, one final question if I may, I am not clear on the purpose of the semi colon. In the cnfg file, do I simply ad a semi colon before each line as per your example and delete the semi colon if I want the chosen view back at a later date ?Is it that simple ?Thanks, Busterbvi.
Hi Busterbvi,It may be obvious to you now, but the purpose of the first character semi colon or the double forward slash is to have that line of code ignored by the program. All high level program languages and associated configuration files allow programmers to "comment out" lines of code based on certain characters. Once these special character(s) are read (left to right), the rest of the line is treated as a comment and not executed.

Now, if you are still looking for the unobstructed 2d FS9 view, where you do not see your own airplane,it can be added to each airplane individually if you desire. You can do it by hand as a test:Go to the 2d main panel view, push W to get to the minipanel view, push shift+2 to bring in a popup panel, push A, push shift+A, and presto you have the FS9 unobstructed view..Send me a PM if you would like the automated version..
