February 23, 201214 yr I purchased this product for Ifly 737 FSX. Now I'm wondering what I bought. Maybe someone can explain it to me. Yes, I received 8 or 9 liveries for the 800 series which are very nice and alone would probably be worth the cost.....but there's more. The product promises Ifly missions with flight plans....The missions are there but no flightplans (routes, etc) for the CDU or already programmed into the CDU. I've looked for a forum but can't find. Any thoughts or ideas ?

Any support will have to come from the vendor/developer of the package.DJ Edited February 23, 201214 yr by ubersu
February 23, 201214 yr Yeah it appears to be some Liveries along with some VOR to VOR flight plans loaded and some ambience threw in at certain stages. I have a few of their previous products for the default 737, but since they touted it required ifly 737 I figured they incorporated some SDK functions in the checklists, but it appears not. Just a 1 key acknowledgement that you checked it. Oh and yeah, Ifly was not involved and kind of caught them off guard as to what it was, Edited February 23, 201214 yr by ohsirus

Any thoughts or ideas ?I can help you out here. This is actually a nice program that can keep your attention for quite some time if you are interested in flying like an airline pilot. The missions are there, provided you ran the installer. You may want to spend a few minutes reading the pdf manual. It is a little confusing at first as there are duplicate misssions or flight plans for the default 737-800 using the Perfect Flight liveries and should you have the iFly 737-800 and also installed those missions. About the only difference in the two is the slight improvement of the iFly VC panel and how the FMC is diffierent from the default. The basis of the game is you show up ready to fly a mission that is a mimic of most likely a real world flight. The interesting part for me is the interaction of the flight crew. Lots and lots of verbal stuff from the cabin and first officer. If you have experienced any of the FS2Crew addons you would feel right at home. The biggest difference is these crewsare much more active than some of the earlier FS2Crew programs, but are probably a lot closer to some of the more recent ones.I have the previous release of this software that was written for the Aerosoft Airbus A320/321 and as one poster related above, probably without Aerosoft's participation or endoresement. No big deal, it should be a feather in their hat and more publicity. If you take the time to skim over or maybe even read the Avsim Airbus Simulation review here. http://www.avsim.com...ght/Airbus.html and substitute the mission and substitute the aircraft you should have a firm feel for what you have and how to use it. Just think of iFly instead of Airbus and the default is the default just a slight improvement in the VC with some new paints. If you are adventurous and also own the other high end 737NGX then it really becomes fun. One substituion of the name of the aircraft from the aircraft.cfg file in one of the mission files and everything is setup for that aircraft. I flew part of the mission from KMIA Miami to KMJX Miller in Toms River, NJ using the CanJet livery for the PMDG 737NGX-800WL and it was very enteraining for me. Once you fly the missions you can edit the time and weather to for slight changes. When I was writing the AirbusX Simulation review, I flew a short flight from AZ to Southern CA several times just to see what was the same or what was different. it was a different experience each time - the old 'no two flights are the same' held true on those flights. Different runways for takeoff, slightly different routing, different altitudes, etc. The only thing that was the same was the gate numbers and aircraft. The only reason I haven't flown more missions with this new release, other than only having it 3 days now, is that we have had company for Mardi Gras and they only left today. Oops, supper is ready and I haven't checked my wording. I am going to post it anyway and edit it later if needed. Wish we have an easy spell checker.I recommend to spend some time with the pdf and I'll bet you will be excited about what you have purchased the next time you post about it. Enjoy. Rayhttp://www.simulshop.comhttp://www.avsim.com...ght/Airbus.htmlUPDATEI just skimmed over the Avsim review and I forgot to mention above that if you should have the AivlaSoft Electronic Flight Book system then you can copy all the iFly plans over to the folder that EFB expects to find iFly plans and you can use that to supplement your progress and it raises it to an even higher level. Loads of fun when you put them all together.I purchased the iFly on the first day of release and kept waiting for their tutorial flight for the NGX version that as far as I can tell never got written even to today. But, fortunately, the PMDG finally made it to market a couple of month after the iFy and I haven't loaded any iFly flights since. Now that Perfect Flight has in effect released all these mini tutorials for the iFly, I may be tempted to load one up for comparison. I did check the iFly support site to see if I was behind on updates, but the highly anticipated update, can't remember the buzz word or it, is still anticipated, but will most like be a major upgrade. Heck, it should, it will be close to a year in coming.Ray Edited February 24, 201214 yr by raymar When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
February 24, 201214 yr Author Thank you for replies. I see FSX flight plans ("PLN.") fllight plans for FSX default aircraft but I'm not aware of flight plans prepared in the necessary Ifly format for the CDU. That's my main complaint as I see it. Yes, I can prepare the route, but according to the product literature expected to see the appropriate Ifly routes already prepare? Thanks again.

If you load a mission using the FSX missions load screen as shown in the manual, the A/C will be at the proper gate and you can make some instant choices of panel state or checklist state. The flight plan will already be loaded for you, along with the weather and other stuff. That is the whole idea of being an airline pilot - you fly the route with the assistance of the crew. Jusst make sure your FSX sound is on and speakers or headset volumne is set because you are in for a new experience. I throughly enjoyed the flights and really do miss the interaction with the crew when not using Perfect Flight or FS2Crew.Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .

No way though is it on the level of the latest FS2Crew, but I could see the appeal of using it on the other high-end 737 to add some life to the sim.

If not, you can use it for 30 days of unrestricted use as a trial. Until we figure out why you are not seeing the iFly flight plans, you can load the PLN in EFB and simply save it in the iFly PLAN format. Then it can load directly in the iFly FMC and you should be ready to go. Or, you can just fly a couple of the missions with the default 737-800 and get the feel of the simulation. For me, the big thing was the plans were all available with all the extras incuded and they are very enjoyable. I personally don't find a lot of pleasure in punching in each and every digit to the FMC. I had much rather just load up a professional built plan, look at it in EFB, and go do it. But each to his own. There are 27 plans included and they can be flown in anything close to the speeds and weighs of the 737-800 no matter who marketed the simulated version.Ray When Pigs Fly . February 24, 201214 yr Author Ray - that's a real good suggestion. I've looked into this product a little in the past but taken no action. I'll look into it again. Thank you.
