February 29, 201214 yr There is a Flight manual, but it took me a while to find, since Flight's website has been updating constantly lately. You can download the Flight Manual/Handbook and the Basic Controls in pdf format from HERE. ~ Arwen ~ Home Airfield: KHIE
February 29, 201214 yr Awesome, thanks!!! Gives me something to do at work while I am waiting to get home (still another 6 hours to go...) to download Flight...
February 29, 201214 yr thanks Arwen! have to ask (but you don't have to answer!) - do you notice any big changes from the beta you tested?
February 29, 201214 yr Downloaded and printed those! Thanks! The UI music is different from the beta. I actually preferred the music in the beta strangely! They've also done a lot of work on the water reflections, it wasn't anywhere near that glossy in the beta. February 29, 201214 yr Thanks for the link. I wonder if its possible to adjust the sensitivity of the trim-control? I always seem to end in a very slow climb or descent when trying to get level flight, about +/- 25 feet/minute. Any tips to get the "perfect" straight and level flight... Without autopilot i need to brush up on my skills setting a good trim and power for longer legs with the icon.- -- - Kinetic
February 29, 201214 yr Author thanks Arwen! have to ask (but you don't have to answer!) - do you notice any big changes from the beta you tested? The biggest change is in textures (and shaders, light maps, normal maps) and better optimization (it now loads much faster). The key/axis assignments were increased, so that you can now assign Eyepoint changes (like moving your viewpoint sideways, up/down, forward/back) to keys/buttons (in the beta you could only do this by holding down the middle mouse button, and there was not forward/back at all). Also I can now finally assign mixture and prop rpm to an axis. Also the M key now toggles back and forth between map and free flight (which is a small, but nice change). They also made some changes to the flight models. I haven't had a chance to check out all the aircraft yet, but I'm not sure this was for the better (over what we had in the beta). For instance, the brakes are now a lot more sensitive (at least in the Stearman), which was an issue in the early beta . . . and then it was corrected in the latest beta build . . . but now is seems to be back to the early beta state (which is broken). Thanks for the link. February 29, 201214 yr One thing i felt that was strongly needed in the HUD was an indicator of flap position. I guess they didn't think that was important. Oh well.
February 29, 201214 yr Sweet that improved straight and level quiet a bit, I think my trim-joystick-button was set too sensitive. Thanks Arwen. -- - Kinetic
February 29, 201214 yr One thing i felt that was strongly needed in the HUD was an indicator of flap position. I guess they didn't think that was important. Oh well.During the beta, it was suggested you look out the window to check for flap position...amazingly, it does work, once you get used to it.. Bert
February 29, 201214 yr During the beta, it was suggested you look out the window to check for flap position...amazingly, it does work, once you get used to it..are you trying to be funny? I can also clearly see the flaps in chase plane view, that isn't the point. Edited February 29, 201214 yr by russellbdavis
February 29, 201214 yr Not really, in a simple airplane you do not need instruments to show you what you can readily seeby looking around,,, try it, it actually seems natural after a while. Edited February 29, 201214 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
