I've just seen a strangest thing. I wonder if this shouldn't actually go to the technical forums, but I guess I'll try here first. To the point - a moment ago I've been reading a thread. The author was sad there were so few threads that are critical to the new Microsoft's offering and wondered if potential posters aren't inhibited by the fact that the former forum was locked down and the new one explicitly states you should reconsider twice before you post anything down of enthusiastic. Well and good. Then an admin joined the discussion, saying that if the original author suspects the critical threads are deleted, than no - they're not unless they're truly offensive. Further down was a nice analysis on expectation vs. delivery and psychological and marketing aspects of the discrepancies between the two. There was also a page two, but I didn't get there. Because the thread is not there. As it's virtually impossible it was deleted by a moderator, I suspect some technical problems which I'd like to bring to the administrator's attention.If, on the other hand, the thread _was_ deleted by a moderator, I - as a person who is, by my country's as well as my own history, pretty well aware of what both Gestapo (mentioned in the above thread and apparently found to be offending by some - these should actually google for Herr Flick, for their own good) and censorship mean - humbly ask the administrators to delete this account of mine, as i don't believe I'll have much use of it.Best regards,Łukasz GrochalA citizen of a communist country from '75 to '89.That's long enough to know that I don't want to wake up and learn it's 1984 all over.

Wow. I can not believe that thread was deleted. Suppression of free and open discussion, is this what Avsim stands for now? Tom (the admin), why would that thread be deleted after you have participated in it, and especially after you have said, in that same thread, that threads were not being deleted? I don't know if you deleted that thread yourself Tom, or if it was another mod, but either way...that's pretty bad.

The "gestapo" remark was sick... and vulgar... if you knew something about the gestapo (you lived in East Germany? fine good... I lost a cousin to the ##### during WWII and a number of uncles/relatives who fought them) then you should acknowledge calling any mod "gestapo" is "beyond the pale".I don't like seeing threads deleted or locked... but then... this is not my (very successful) forum. I have a choice...

• pm the mods (if they are willing to discuss)
• accept it and say nothing
• leave

At this point... I am a very content "guest" here at AVSIM. If you think this forum anything like gestapo tactics or something run inside a communist country... I suppose you are right to cancel your login.Also consider... maybe if there had not been so much whack speculation and posting the last year and a half, for a product that was not released, maybe mod policy would be a bit more relaxed...

We Poles know pretty much. Regardless of the semantics, closing topics with rational criticism is a no-no for me.
