February 29, 201214 yr Hi All.I've just downloaded the demo version of VoxATC and patched it to v6.06 as per a thread I read recently regarding its use with the PMDG NGX aircraft. I'm looking for a more realistic ATC addon for use primarily with the NGX, and VoxATC seems to fit the bill.I spent a couple of hours last night 'training' my voice and running through the supplied IFR flight. VoxATC is very nice, albeit with slightly 'mechanical' voices (a la Stephen Hawkin), nevertheless, the voice interaction adds another level of realism for me. It's far better than hitting switches! After running through the canned flight, I set up a flight from Gatwick to Schiphol, and after a few failed attempts at getting VoxATC to initialise, I managed to get it working. I did suffer a fatal error (+ CTD) when trying to access the 'view' menu half way through the flight. I hope this isn't a recurring issue as it would put me off purchasing the full version. I was running 3 or so VoxPOP voices, so maybe this was the problem? Also, I may try running it on a different core? I have a few basic questions that I'd like some help with if possible?1, Is it possible to turn up the speech? (I have it set to max in the setting config tool). 2, Is there a night mode for the panel? It's virtually impossible to read at night.3, Flight planning for the NGX: Last night I simply planned a flight within FSX and saved it. I then created a flight, saved it, and then ran that flight. Is this the correct procedure? The manual is a bit sketchy tbh. I always program my whole flight within the FMC of the NGX, including SIDs and STARs. I use vRoute Premium and FSBuild as planning tools. However, these flight plans deviate massively from what FSX plans. Is it possible to use a .pln file from these programs with VoxATC to give a better representation of the flight plan? Can anyone explain to me how to do this? I have the latest Level D ARAC from Navigraph and I've setup the path in VoxATC...Many thanks. Ed Haslam
February 29, 201214 yr #1. I had the same issue so I eventually decided to turn the other sounds down a little bit.#2. Ik have assigned a button that will show me the VoxATC popup if I need it. You'll soon find out that after using it a while you can reply to ATC and ask ATC with the frases needed by memery, which means...no need for the popup :)#3. I create my FP with FSBuild, and save it in PMDG format and FSX format. Then I start FSX, load the NGX, set the correct airport, lad the FP I just created with FSBuild. When it asks me to relocate the plane I say NO. I start the flight, start/enable VoxATC and...presto! A working VoxATC.When using FSBuild and the Navigraph AIRAC's you'll even get a correct SID and STAR :) Eric [FSX on Windows7 64-bit]

Am I correct in assuming that if you supply FSX with a plan that includes SIDs and Stars, then Vox will use those regardless of the RW weather?Similarly, if I use a plan (as you did above) that doesn't include a SID and STAR, Vox will dynamically allocate them according to the RW weather? February 29, 201214 yr Am I correct in assuming that if you supply FSX with a plan that includes SIDs and Stars, then Vox will use those regardless of the RW weather?no, it won't use them. if you wish to use your own SID/STAR then you need to use the "SID & STAR Wizard" (one of VoxATC icons)Similarly, if I use a plan (as you did above) that doesn't include a SID and STAR, Vox will dynamically allocate them according to the RW weather?Correct Joel Strikovsky
March 1, 201214 yr Can someone explain to me how that particular SID & Star wizzard works? I tried to use it by followjng the manual, but I recon thee must be an easier way to get the correct SID & STAR. I was hoping, after buying VoxATC and reading about it, that it'll let me choose what SID/START to use, but...it almost looks like you should be named Einstein to ge it all in :)Normally I don't use a SID/START in my FP since VoxATC will indeed give it to me. But sometimes it fails giving me a SID and the take-pff procedure is therefore very wrong. Eric [FSX on Windows7 64-bit]
