February 29, 201214 yr After about 15-20 minutes of flying the systems just shuts down and reboots. Has happened now several times and only in FLIGHT. I have the newest drivers, I7 2600K, Nvidia GTX480, 16gb Ram. March 2, 201214 yr Sounds like a possible heat problem. You guys should post your OS, ram, cpu, OC if any, gpu to see if there is anything in common. Win7 x6412 gb rami7 920 @ 2.67nvidia GTX 260all checked and no updates required for anythingDon't imagine it'd be a heat issue, this is the only game on my gaming pc that has an issue on any video setting. thx Edited March 2, 201214 yr by Wilkz07
March 2, 201214 yr I had that problem with my Laptop setup; it started when I turned settings to MAX and VSync off. Went back to MED and VSync on an problem went away. Hope this helps some of you. Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
March 2, 201214 yr Moderator That is almost certainly a case of thermal shutdown. Keep in mind that Flight offloads most of the "grunt work" to your video card's processor. If it's being overwhelmed, it will trigger a thermal shutdown. Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

March 2, 201214 yr Game crashed for me just now, though not completely. During the Stearman intro checklist there was a crash sound, a brief loading screen, and an external view showing two Stearman's fused together. Otherwise it had been running fine on High settings on a Dell laptop.

March 2, 201214 yr Not multiplayer, no. I had just chosen the Stearman intro from the mission select screen. Don't know what happened, but I will try that same one again a bit later today.
March 2, 201214 yr The smaller the case and the higher the Flight detail settings, the more problem it is to get rid of heat generated by the cpu and the gpu, both of which are used more in Flight than FSX.Laptops are most susceptible to overheating, so if you are on a laptop, you will need to set detail lower to reduce the load on your hardware. If you have a case, there are other options - check in at the Hardware Forum.
March 5, 201214 yr just playing in single player on desktop that can run everything else in high video. turned vsync off and tried on low - crashed again after 5 min. giving up until patch released.
