March 20, 201214 yr okay, grounded again. I am again in a loop of identified corrupted installations, multiple attempts to reboot and repair did not help.so, I am about to delete everything and try a reinstall from scratch. however, what shall I not delete if I want to keep my profile? I learned that some info is stored locally? even if XP and achievements etc are stored online in the cloud, what is it I must keep on my HDD in order not to start all missions from scratch again? any idea?Hey Phil,You can try - don't know if it will help in your case, doubt it would hurt- try backing up your user profile from the following location:users- < your user name> appdate - local-microsoft-flight-players.Your user folder will be the one with some sequence of numbers, the other folder in there is simply named default. The one you want is our user folder.I would just highlight that folder , and copy and paste outside of your Flight directory. On a new install, copy and paste it back in the same players folder. There may be other tips come along as well in addition - I know this was recommended to me as a safe guard, in case all my data was to get erased regarding missions/challenges/jobs that have been completed along with other things.Sorry to hear you are still having the troubles, hope you can get that sorted soon. And hope something in the above helps regarding not losing all your info... Don B

March 25, 201214 yr Hello, I found this post while searching on google for a solution to my problem. I have the exact same problem.I have a I7, 12gb RAM, Ati Radeon HD 5800 series rig, I run skyrim, FSX, portal, battlefield 3 etc. without no problems whatsoever and microsoft flight, in the second mission, just before or after (it varies) I near the yatch, sometimes the textures turn red and the game crashes back to desktop. I am pretty sure it isn't overheating as I even had my fan running at 100% one time and it even crashed. I tried every solution out there. Even rolled back to catalyst 12.1, switched off all the cpu cores and tried with only one. dissabled all start up programs and services, antivirus, etc.Sometimes it crashes before I land near the yatch, sometimes it crashes after I land, only once did I manage to make it to the begining of the third mission, then it crashed and when I tried to play again it actualy took me back to the first mission (As if it didnt save anything)I tried different video drivers and pretty much everything, even reinstalled the game. Windowed mode might work but I don't even want to think of that as a solution as I rather not play the game than play windowed mode.I hope a solution comes up soon. Thanks
March 27, 201214 yr I have been in contact with the developers regarding the "red artifact" issue. Have sent numerous screenshots showing the memory usage and gpu temperatures. Last weekend I re-installed widows to see if there was an issue with the OS. (getting desparate for a solution). Installed flight and ran without issue. Then I activated my live profile. CTD at the yacht. Deleted the live profile and the flight folders in appdata, and ran great again. Created a new login, and CTD at the yacht. Seems like if you delete your profile(s) and the delete the flight folders in the appdata (both the roaming and local), everything runs like it should. Noticed because of the screenshots I was doing for the developers that without the live profile, I run about 200k less in the working memory, and it does not grow. With the live profile activated, the memory seems to keep increasing in size until it crashes. Wondering if anyone else has similar experience. Do the crashes start after you login to live. Sent this to the developers, but have not heard back from them.
March 27, 201214 yr Do the crashes start after you login to liveinteresting. I right now have yet another crash series. as mentioned earlier above, it works for many days and then suddenly it crashes, sometimes after 5 mins and sometimes after 45 min when I am just about to finish a mission. it's driving me nuts. installed the latest nvidia driver 210.x with no help. will actually check your suggestion re live login since I am always logged in, will change that tomorrow and check. thanks Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"
