Windows 8 Consumer Preview & FSX

I didn't quote you. Please be a little more respectful and stop trying to bash every comment I make (it's not just this post). Again, I did not quote you. You're a moderator now and you should know better. I only insinuated that you thought it would increase performance AND I provided the link so everyone could read it for themselves. I thought it was interesting to bring up in that I had read other comments you made on the Windows 7 forum as shown above. It really truly bothers me when you try to argue with people (like me) but I am not intimidated with your negativity with me. It just bothers me. I'm sure many others are intimidated. I will continue to post here and continue to try to provide some positive feedback to the flightsim community. Why are you and others trying to bash Windows 8 anyway? (I know, you didn't say you were bashing Windows 8!). Are you trying to make me think I shouldn't upgrade because you don't think Windows 8 will bring much (to the community)? I think you need to test at least the beta before making your comments. I have benchmarks showing definite improvements with FSX from Windows XP (when FSX was first released) to Windows 7. Of course some technology improvements were made too but still, there are definite improvements when upgrading to the latest and greatest technologies (including GPU drivers).JimJim
look Firehawk, you clearly misquoted Word Not Allowed and JimS implying they said it ran great when NEITHER of them said ANYTHING of the sorts...
Already done. It works great according to JimS and Word Not Allowed over at the Windows 7 forum -
As I already pointed out neither of them said anything like that and I still don't know how you got that from their responses. Jim S said
YES
and Word Not Allowed said he hadn't tested it with FSXThat is all Word Not Allowed said, if you are going to quote him get it correct and you didn't. No one is arguing with you and you are turning into something it isn't...Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of W8 like it or not, it is not bashing to state one's opinions. Frankly, I think you are a bit out of line here and there is no need for this thread to go to a negative place...

Have a Wonderful Day

Ah yes, but in the Windows based Corporate/Public safety world the form factor of the i-pad that all the end users want with a ruggedized tablet that integrates directly into the domain and security policy and doesn't need apps re-written on the back end will be huge. I would never buy one as a consumer, not impressed from that respect but impressed with what an officer can do with a W8 tablet compared to a toughbook mounted in the vehicle... From THAT respect it is a huge leap forward!
Quite right on that one. It's definitely another standard coming, and it's in the very early stage.Kind of bothers me, I would like it to be the other way, everyone else always being late behind the Apple when it comes to technology. Microsoft has its principe on office computing and all, and I would hope they would bring the fluidity of the Apple system to Microsoft computer. I have been an avid user of early Windows Mobile operating systems. Switched to Apple, and always been wondering if Microsoft is going to have its big Comeback... still not smelling it though. But I would hope this is it.

I have been playing around with Windows 8 in VirtualBox for a couple of days now. Looks good so far. Metro does take getting used to.I am making a system image right now, so I can restore back to Win7 just in case of a major disaster.I have FSX running smoothly with ORBX addons, REX, GEX, UTX. (system specs below)I will upgrade to Win8 (over my existing Win7), and let you know the outcome.Wish me luck.ecgOPERATING SYSTEM: Windows 7 Ultimate - 64 bitPROCESSOR: Intel i7 2600K 3.4 ghz - OC 4.8ghzMOTHERBOARD: Asus P8P67 DeluxeVIDEO: EVGA GTX 580HDD: (2) Crucial 128GB SSD, (OS/FSX), WD 1.0 TB, RAM: 16 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600

Can you check known W7 bugs:
  1. Mouse Right-Click Click 25 times on main window, and
  2. Sceney Library dialog box for entering a scenery add-on new path .

Cheers,- jahman.
