March 6, 201214 yr without having to pay for DLC twice? I'd like to set up a second profile for my son. It seems as if the DLC is paired with the Windows live account and can't be copied even on the same computer.
March 6, 201214 yr Moderator Unfortunately, no. While it's possible to set up two (or more) User Accounts on the same computer, the DLC is licensed and unlocked only for a single Gamertag. The net result is that the stats for the User Account will reflect only that User's activity, the overall stats for both User's will be combined for the LIVE server. This is what I was told by one of the developers when I asked this question in the beta forum: If he creates a separate windows account on the machine, but uses the same gamertag from both accounts I believe he could theoretically maintain seperate lists of completed missions, but some of the stats would still be shared due to the roaming profile support on the server. March 6, 201214 yr Author Thanks. That's what I thought. It seems like an easy enough fix for MS if they wanted to allow this.
March 6, 201214 yr Mark: Give it a try using Bill's advice.Seems to be the only viable alternative. Any other way would imply having to buy the same DLC content several times, for the same computer, depending on the number of members of your family that whant to play Flight.(Imagine the cost, plus the wasted duplicated downloads and drive space)None of Us knows if MS will fix this "small" issue. March 7, 201214 yr For what it's worth, you won't have to download the content twice but you will have to pay for it twice. I know, I've done it so my son can use Flight DLC with his Gamertag.
March 7, 201214 yr How about creating a "family" Gamertag for all to use? Was FSX able to install on multi Windows accounts?
March 7, 201214 yr This is, unfortunately the same as services like Steam, and is the main drawback for cloud or download based gaming.A solution would be to have 'profiles' within the one account I suppose.
