March 6, 201214 yr Ok so I am doing something I said I was not going to do, I am in the process of purchasing some DLC - had planned on holding out for native Track IR support before doing so, but well, ok decided to do just these two - after that, no more until I see Track IR support!Anyways, through the flight interface, I purchased 1600 points to buy the Hawaiin Expansion Pack. It downloaded and appears to have installed just fine. One question - on the download screen, judging by the way it showed my space available, it is referring to my C: drive. I actually have Flight installed on my E: Drive. Is this screen just referring to the dowload? Would it have installed automatically to where Flight is installed, my E: drive? I took a look at both in explorer, and really cannot tell. I see a folder in my C: drive referecing windows live games, but don't see anything in there that looks like a flight file. Also though on my E: drive, I looked in my flight folder, and really don't see anything that sticks out at me as being the Hawaiin Expansion. But the map in the game, does show it available to me now.Second question - I purchased some more credits, to buy the Maule. However when I click on the download button for the Maule in the game, it gives an error that it can't be downloaded. The error number seems to point to an internet connection problem, but there is nothing wrong with my connection. I will keep trying though...Edit - Just tried again, and the Maule downloaded fine - too quick to ask I guess..Oh also one last question - are there full downloaded files that are saved anywhere doing it this way, that I need to delete?? March 6, 201214 yr The DLC gets saved to the C: drive unless you change the default path in GFWL screen outside the game.It gets saved to C:/users/username/appdata/local/microsoft/Xlive/DLC (hidden files & folders)Fred. Edited March 6, 201214 yr by RYR738 Frederic Steiner.
March 6, 201214 yr Author Well crap, ok then I do not want them there, I want them on my E: drive with my Flight installation.Ok so now I am back to Games for Windows Marketplace - it is showing me, the Hawaiin Pack, and the Maule I have purchased, with an option to delete. Do I just delete these two items from that screen, the download and install again after changing the drive to where I want?Sorry my brain is a little foggy, had a procedure this am and still groggy... Don B
March 6, 201214 yr Hi Don.Yes, just delete from inside the Marketplace screen. That will remove them from your C drive.Don't forget to change the default paths for everything.Fred. Frederic Steiner.
March 6, 201214 yr Author Hi Don.Yes, just delete from inside the Marketplace screen. That will remove them from your C drive.Don't forget to change the default paths for everything.Fred.Will do, many thanks for the help!Hmm, ok one more question and my apologies again for my fuzzy brain - so Flight is installed to the following directory:E:Microsoft GamesMicrosoft FlightNow, in the GFWMP screen, under Install Management, should I just change the directory to E: ? and the rest will take care of itself, or should I make it like E: Microsoft Games?I am thinking just change it to E: ? Don B
March 6, 201214 yr The default is C;/program files so yes I would just change it to E: + the directory you want it in.Fred. Frederic Steiner.
March 6, 201214 yr Author Hmm I may have a problem here.Ok redownloaded and installed from GFWLM.It shows as installed.Launch Flight, it does not have the Hawaii pack available, I click on it, and it gives a spinning circle saying " download in progress".It has been stuck there for the last 10 minutes or so.It does show the Maule in my hangar, so apparently that one did ok doing what I did - the Hawaii pack seems to have an issue at the moment. Don B
March 6, 201214 yr Don: The hawaii Pack is around 900 mb (can't remember the exact size), so it might take a while.I guess, You can open GFWL Marketplace Client and probably see the download percentage, Haven't tried (not needed) but I see no reason not to try it Edited March 6, 201214 yr by Kabronicus Ramón. March 6, 201214 yr Author I think I truly have a problem here - I have a fairly fast connection, ok so I just did it from within the game, deleting the hawaii pack prior to trying again. It too just a few minutes to download, then installed - I got the message at the bottom of the screen, " new content available".Now however, if I click on the hawaii pack islands, it takes me to the purchase screen, shows " download in progress", and just stays there...Something apparently has gone astray here. The " download in progress" message is not up in the windows live home screen, it is showing just below the picture of the plane in the Hawaiian Adventure Pack , then little ways to the right of it is a message " downloading".Man oh man, all I wanted to do was fly the RV6 for now, just my luck...If I go to the marketplace, it already shows as downloaded and installed. March 6, 201214 yr I recall reading about this kind of problem. (Give it more time is first thing)Two solutions come to mind. Exit Flight -> Reboot and see if you have the high res Islands. If that fails, open the GFWL Marketplace Client and verify that it installed correctly, If it says “Delete” to the right, it did, you can then “Delete” it from your hard drive and afterwards you can “Download” it again from GFWL Marketplace Client. Note: I have also heard people having trouble with this: So check your router, your cookies and user account control settings. Edited March 6, 201214 yr by Kabronicus Ramón. March 6, 201214 yr Author I will give that a try and advise - thanks. I know it shows installed with a delete option to the right. I will reboot first and see. Don B
March 6, 201214 yr Author Ok I rebooted, relaunched flight, and tried the Hawaii Expansion Island. Took me to the Hawaii pack screen, instead of saying purchase, gave me an option to "redownload". I opened GFWLM, there was a delete option by the Expansion Pack, I deleted it. Now I am trying downloading it again, we will see how this one goes.I went ahead and cleaned out my internet cache and cookies as well as a precaution. Will advise soon.Well same dang issue. It downloaded and installed, according to GFWLM just fine. I went back into the game, chose the Hawaiin Islands expansion, takes me to the purchase screen within the game, instead of showing purchase, shows me an option to " redownload" as it did before...Something has really gone amiss here . Don B
March 6, 201214 yr One more thing; Once you reinstall try and place your plane on another Islamd, but if it still does not work, I just heard about a guy doing the Honolii Cove aerocache and that unlocked the Islands as well as other aerocaches. (go figure) Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
