March 6, 201214 yr You definitely DO have to do the Honolii Cove aerocache to unlock the Islands... Edited March 6, 201214 yr by RichLP
March 6, 201214 yr Author Sorry guys, that is not it, I just do not have the Hawaii Expansion, nor do I have the RV6.Mine is pretty much dorked at this point. Everything worked great till I decided I wanted my addons on the same E drive as my Flight.I deleted the addons, changed the directory for them, redownloaded and installed the addons - the Maule came through just fine, none of the Hawaii Expansion did, nor the RV6.I am stuck in an endless loop now, I delete the addon, redownload and install, get a message new content is available, go to it, get a message it is downloading from within the game, and it stays stuck just like that. The Hawaii Expansion I paid for, it not usable for me at this point.Pretty darn frustrated at this point.I suppose the only thing left to do, is to uninstall everything , the whole dang game, lose all my progress, and do a complete reinstall of everything. I really really do not want to go that route, but apparently it cannot handle changing a directory for the addon after it's initial install.I have had nothing but great fun with Flight these last few days, now I am ticked, especially now that I have spent some bucks and can't even use it.Thanks though for trying to help guys, I really do appreciate it. March 6, 201214 yr Apparently your DLC is being "misplaced", check your paths on GFWL Marketplace Client -> SettingsSee this thread, it worked for Stan (see my posts)Want to put Flight on another drive..how do I save?http://forum.avsim.net/topic/364973-want-to-put-flight-on-another-drivehow-do-i-save/This is what they told us to do after the beta:Before you install the final version of Microsoft Flight, please make sure that you uninstall the beta by following the instructions below:· Uninstall Microsoft Flight from the Add/Remove Programs screen· Delete the following directories (if they exist). Navigate to them by pasting the paths given below in the address bar of Windows Explorer:· %UserProfile%My DocumentsFlight· %LocalAppData%MicrosoftFlight· %LocalAppData%MicrosoftXLiveDLC4d5308d3 also check that this folder is empty in your drive C:, it has all the DLC ( I don't know if you have other GFW games)· %AppData%MicrosoftFlight Edited March 6, 201214 yr by Kabronicus Ramón. March 6, 201214 yr Author Correction - the Maule, which shows as downloaded and installed, is not available within the game either.Augh!!!Money down the drain... Don B
March 6, 201214 yr Author Ok update - whew!I went in, and made sure the numbered folder for the dlc content, under the appdata folder, was empty - it was, so I went ahead and deleted that numbered folder altogether.I then went into Games for Windows Marketplace - without starting Flight and not doing it from within Flight.I deleted the Hawaii Pack from there.I had previously changed the directory from within GFWMP to just E: I decided to drill down a little further there, I changed it to E: Microsoft GamesI then, again without starting Flight and only from within the GFWMP interface, downloaded the Hawaii Adventure Pack , and it downloaded and showed installing.Only after that was done, did I launch flight. I saw a message at the top while it was loading, said " loading content". Looked promising.I then went in, and there it was! I now can get to the islands, and now have the RV6 plane in my hangar once again - whew! Now I have no dadgum idea, what exactly that I did differently, that made it "take" this time, whereas it would not the couple times trying before...One down, one to go - I will now go and try the same with the Maule I have purchased. I expect it will go ok. Only problem with all this, sure cost me some fun flight time this afternoon! Guess I got it bad... Don B

March 6, 201214 yr Author Well I hope all your goodies install correctly, an we'll see you flying soon.I suppose your gamertag is dburne?(BTW many apps dont like root folders.)I have a feeling my deleting that numbered dlc folder in the appdata folder might have made the difference, even though it was an empty folder - who knows.Yes, I did the same thing with the Maule, and now have it as well! Man I was pulling my hair out , thanks so much for all your help!Won't get to do much more flying this evening, but will be home all day tomorrow so will get to play some more then.My gamer tag is dburne458. It was one that was already created some time back, heck don't even remember why, that is what was associated with my windows live login though. Thanks again!Don, will try this right away since I am since 5 days now not able to install the islands or the maule. same issue as you decribe, am in a loop of deleting and re-downloading. just in case would you mind telling me the exact steps again, did you follow Kabronicus' steps? Are you installing to a seperate partition , or outside of the programs files folder? If so, first thing, go into your appdata folder, and make sure that numbered folder gets deleted, it should be empty anyways if you uninstalled. The number of the folder should be 4d5308d2.Then, do NOT launch Flight, do everything from within Games for Windows Marketplace. If yours is showing a delete button, choose to delete.Make sure in your GFWMP settings, you have the appropriate directory chosen where you want things to install, like the game, and any addons. I chose E:MicrosoftGames for my addons, so that would at least be in that same folder that the Flight folder is in - kind of like to keep em close by myself. Then redownload and let it install. Again, only do this from within the Games for Windows Marketplace interface, do not have Flight running. Only after it has finished installing, first sign out of WFLMP, then close that window after you are signed out. Then launch Flight.Best of luck my friend! Don B
March 6, 201214 yr thx. downloading now.just 1 more thing since my downloads tend not to work in the past and I saved away a working cab file which does install: where would flight be installed by the gfw if my game directory is set to Z:Flight? Z:FlightMicrosoft Flight? Would maybe need to manually install it there then...EDIT the %LocalAppData%MicrosoftXLiveDLC4d5308d3 does not exist here, under XLIVE the only folders are content, syscache, titles and updates.. March 7, 201214 yr Author thx. downloading now.just 1 more thing since my downloads tend not to work in the past and I saved away a working cab file which does install: where would flight be installed by the gfw if my game directory is set to Z:Flight? Z:FlightMicrosoft Flight? Would maybe need to manually install it there then...EDIT the %LocalAppData%MicrosoftXLiveDLC4d5308d3 does not exist here, under XLIVE the only folders are content, syscache, titles and updates.. Are you talking only about an addon or the Flight program itself? If the Flight program itself, whatever you direct it to from within Windows for Games Marketplace, it will then create: /microsoft games/microsoft flightSo if you already have folder that is Z:/ Flight, then it will end up Z:/ Flight/Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight -- you can get the gist from that I think...For your addons, they will install to / 4d5308d2/, at whichever directory you point it to from within Windows For Games Marketplace. In my case, in the settings for Windows for Games Marketplace, I set the download path for addons to e:/ Microsoft Games/So now, under my Microsoft Games folder on my E drive, I have two folders - one for Microsoft Flight, and one for 4d5308d2, which now houses the two addons I installed.Hope this helps, Don B
