Depends on your current hardware and the software you are running along with FSX.

Ya know, I have REX2 with OD, and I honestly can not tell if I am running HD roads, grass, or runways? Perhaps I am missing something.I went into the theme creation, while several to choose from as far as asphalt/concrete taxiways and runways, and parking areas, I really can't tell what might be consideredf HD. I do know I am running HD clouds - in 2048 resolution. The only peformance hit really that I notice, is if I am in heavy weather with a lot of clouds, viewing from one of the external views. Otherwise my FSX with REX2 runs very nicely.

Are you not able to disable the HD bits then load up various airports to compare with HD textures on and off? Don't have the addon so not sure if this is possible to temporarily disable them.

No, don't think so - I am just having trouble determining what textures are in REX2 OD for airport areas mentioned in the OP, that would be considered HD...

Yes VeryBumpy, those ones listed there...i ll give it a try then

I installed these few free textures on vanilla FSX and can definitely notice the difference right away. I suppose if you already have REX they may not be as noticeable.

you sir .. have a firm grasp of the obvious.
