Seriously, the Hawaii Photo Book mission is the best mission in the game. It's absolutely top knotch, and worth the time to do it.Hook

I plan on starting it here within the next hour or so, looking forward to it.

To me the missions are about the things you have to do and not about getting there. I did one of the photoshoot missions and skipped every A to B part but still had fun doing the mission: you can't skip everything, you know! Sometimes you get somewhere and have to circle around or fly along a ridge: those little tasks are fun or fly low somewhere. I am glad I can skip the actual flying (which may take a few hours). At first skipping felt weird and like cheating, but now that I have another view on missions altogether (they are all about the tasks, not about the flying), it's more fun, really. Just doing the tasks may take up quite some time already! (The estimated times are based on the use of skip!!!)If I want to do a flight from A to B, I will do a free flight. if possible using VOR so I've got something to do along the way.I hardly to jobs because I don't own the Maule.

Occasionally, additional things can happen if you don't skip. For example, on a biplane tour, if you fly over a landmark that's not part of the tour, you get a few extra points for it and a comment from your passenger. There were a few things like that on the photo book missions, where the passenger makes some comment after you get the option to skip to the next waypoint. However, there were no comments on the flight back to Hilo on the Hawaii photo book mission, so that's a safe place to skip.Hook

That one took me 4 hours and 45 minutes clock time with no skipping. Of course, I wasn't flying full throttle, either. Trying to conserve fuel, and it turns out I had a chance to refuel at one point as part of the mission. Actually, it wouldn't progress until I refueled. Pfft. I woulda made it. :DYou probably don't want to skip on the trip out because things are still happening, but there's nothing else going on during the trip back. Your passenger wakes up when you get to Hilo. Skipping on the trip back is up to you.Note that there are sailplanes parked on the tarmac at Dillingham when you take a break. If I fly this mission again, I'm going to jump out of the plane and run over to check them out after my passenger gets out. Those are only there on this mission, not in free flight. Please verify a possible bug for me. After you leave Dillingham, time has advanced to late afternoon, but your passenger says, "Just in time for the sunrise, too" which should have happened at the observatory. There may be some dialog indexing problems, and I've already reported this one on the beta forum.Hook
Allright, I just completed this mission - got maximum possible points on it as well.I took your advice and did not skip on the trip out, I did skip on the return however.I am glad I did not skip on the trip out, mainly because I just enjoyed looking at the beautiful scenery. It was a lot of fun, and I thoroughly enjoyed it - took me 2 hours and 10 minutes to complete. This is indeed a great mission to go through, educational as well.Btw - I can cofirm the bug about the passenger saying " just in time for sunrise" on that next stop after Dillingham, it is obviously later in the afternon, in fact we land at Dillingham so he can stretch his legs and grab some lunch...Neat the way he provides some feedback if you get a little crazy, I made a couple of very sharp banks and turns - he said he was feeling sick, and asked me to take it a little easier - which I did, then a few minutes later he thanked me and said he was feeling much better. Lol the wuss.

He also says "Can we just fly normal bro?" (or something like that)

hmm wonder if we could do this mission in multiplayer? It would be cool to get a group of people together to do the photo shoot mission for some entertainment at least lol.See with this mission as an example they should give you like an extra 5,000-10,000 xp for not skipping

Yes perhaps so, but I would have had to take the penalty - 2 hours I can do, 4+ hours - no way.The nice thing with Flight though that helps, especially if the wind is not too bad - get to your cruise altitude, get to your desired speed, trim for straight and level. If some serious distance to go, you can go do other things in the meantime if you desire , no worries about getting your flight cancelled due to non response to atc...
