March 7, 201214 yr So when I'm doing missions I find it very hard to resist skipping to the next waypoint...lol. I really rather be doing multiplayer flight plans, so just do missions to get xp to unlock new paint jobs and what not. So I'm thinking lets get this boring mission over asap to get the xp....then bam I skip to the next waypoint. I feel like there should be some reason not to skip to the next way-point (like extra xp or something)
March 7, 201214 yr I'm pretty sure you gain XP by just flying around, so if you skip to the next waypoint you do miss out on XP by missing out on flight time.
March 7, 201214 yr I don't really use the skip function, but i don't think you should be penalized for using. Perhaps in MP only maybe. -Scotty
March 7, 201214 yr I am mixed on this one, so really can't do a true vote on it.If it is like the photo mission that takes 4 hours if you don't skip, and 1 hour if you do, then I think I should be able to skip without penalty.On the other hand, if it is a reasonably timed activity that one really should not skip for one reason or the other, then maybe a penalty would be warranted... March 7, 201214 yr As far as I know you get a bonus for not skipping when doing a job but there is no bonus for not skipping in a mission like the Airport Photo mission, so you can skip in a mission with no penalty. I can't imagine doing the Airport Photo mission without skipping. You'd need the patience of a saint to fly that far that (relatively) slowly.

March 10, 201214 yr I never press "Skip."If I wanted to press a button and just have the plane go where it's supposed to go, I'd load FSX.

March 10, 201214 yr I haven't done it because I might be tempted to press "Skip!" :LMAO:Lol, yeah I am pretty sure when I do it, I will use skip - I think even at that it takes about an hour - much better than 4 hours though!I try normally not to use skip, only used it a couple of times when I got bored and still had around 30 nm to go before my next desitination.... March 10, 201214 yr Have you done the Hawaii Photo Mission?I may do that one today - though I understand with no skipping takes about 4 hours to achieve.That one took me 4 hours and 45 minutes clock time with no skipping. Of course, I wasn't flying full throttle, either. Trying to conserve fuel, and it turns out I had a chance to refuel at one point as part of the mission. Actually, it wouldn't progress until I refueled. Pfft. I woulda made it. :DYou probably don't want to skip on the trip out because things are still happening, but there's nothing else going on during the trip back. Your passenger wakes up when you get to Hilo. Skipping on the trip back is up to you.Note that there are sailplanes parked on the tarmac at Dillingham when you take a break. If I fly this mission again, I'm going to jump out of the plane and run over to check them out after my passenger gets out. Those are only there on this mission, not in free flight.Please verify a possible bug for me. After you leave Dillingham, time has advanced to late afternoon, but your passenger says, "Just in time for the sunrise, too" which should have happened at the observatory. There may be some dialog indexing problems, and I've already reported this one on the beta forum.Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
March 10, 201214 yr Some good tips there Hook that will come in handy as I will be flying this one soon - many thanks. Don B
