I must question default 744 flight dynamics...

I have had every single MSFS version from FS5 to FSX. My first payware was "Big Jets" for FS98. I have all of PSS's products, FSLabs Concorde (their first one), everything from PMDG up to and including the 747-400 for FSX, the RFP 747-200, Level D 767, a bunch of Flight 1 and Just flight aircraft, the Beaver from Aerosoft, about half the Wilco stuff and maybe a few more that I don't remember. So it's safe to say I am well versed in the quality side of MSFS add ons. And after having said all that, I still prefer X Planes flight model. I haven't opened FSX or FS9 in about 2 years. I know what x plane is capable of. Moreso now than 3 years ago when I was first introduced to it. It was enough to sway this self confessed MSFS ###### opinion. You obviously prefer FSX. You won't change my opinion and it's obvious I won't change yours, so yes, I would like to end it there.
You don't have to say anything, but a RealAir model would have been a nice addition for the MSFS series, in regards to flight models. I didn't much like FS98 myself, as I prefered Pro-Pilot by a good margin.edit addition: There is a difference in our thoughts. You haven't done anything with FSX in two years. My mind is open enough on the subject, that I'll run X-Plane and even buy products for it, while still enjoying FSX. Who knows what my preference will be in the coming years.

Larry, of course I couldn't agree MORE with you... been there, gave up, long ago, had some expectations for xp10, but sorry.... nahhhhhhJust as I posted at another thread, about Carenado's Bonanza:---- quote from my other post ----This bank instead of yaw, rather exaggerated and unrealistic effect, is an old bug of xplane's FM, and one I have long compalined about with no success. I would accept some roll due to torque, but where is the yaw on most prop aircraft during full power climb? It is not that much the P-factor, but rather slipstream that causes it, although the ball tends to get pretty much centered on prop aircraft in xplane. Some designers try to play around with engine and tail fin cant, as used on real aircraft, but then, when you throttle back what you get is only the effect of that assymetry. At cruise speed/power dynamic pressure should be more than sufficient to nill any torque effects, and on power climbs, or whenever you give throttle more abruptly while level or climbing, yaw, and the need to kick the ball should be there!!!All I see to my dismay is that this is still a problem with xp10... a pitty, given the otherwise great potential....I should sum up other aspects that I would gladly exchange for cars on roads or any sort of AI life down there... Weather modelling for instance, such basic aspects as modelling the effects of colder/denser air in terms of pressure surfaces, better wind/gust/turbulence models, a good thermal model as well as a more complete orographic lift model, etc....Well....

If it was more advanced, the best of the best would always outshine an MSFS model. In reality they don't. I just picked up a 3rd party MSFS model, that'sremarkable with it's flight characteristics, as well as graphics. It's been in years of refinement to produce. The production log took as long, as it would me, to build a real airplane. It's certainly not a case of just filling in blanks. I have no problem supporting both sims, I use both sims, I'll buy after market products for both sims. Just don't try to convince me, that the X-Plane program is actually more powerful than it is. It's the final results that count.L.Adamson

There's only a limited number of hours in the day - I think Goran has been spending them all building models for X-Plane!

BINGO! :(
BINGO! :(
That's why I'm here! I wouldn't want you to miss out on some excellent & worthwhile information, just because you're too preoccupied. :(

I know I can always count on you, Larry. :(

Peter JamesHi I thought there was something familiar about the name then I read your sig. Sure was a shame Electronic Arts dropped FU3. I had a lot of fun with that, particularly FLED.Anyways welcome to the xplane forumsRegards

hmmm okay yes I keep staring at the addons like some 787 or something and a canadair challenger I'd like but only after I purchase x-plane first... dunno...
