FSInn

Hi FolksYesterday I installed the Embraer Range of jets from Feelthere. When I wanted to go online with VATSIM, the "Addon" tag was gone and no trace of FSinn in my computer. I found it under the Unstall stuff, unistalled it - but now I cant install it. I keep get this "Error Opening File for Writing" message. It happens right at the end of the FS Copilot set up.Any help will be great. ThanksWarren Alexander

Hi Warren,I'm having some difficulty understanding your post as the information is a little vague. Do you mean the "Add-ons" tab located in the inflight menu of FSX? What uninstall stuff, where was it located? And exactly did you find in uninstall, was it an .exe?Lastly, what are you trying to install? Please provide more information. Thanks.

Make sure that the entire FSFDT folder is deleted, it can be located in C:Program FilesFSFDT (may be in a slightly different location if you are using WIN7). And make sure there aren't any entries in the FSX.cfg for FSFDT (FSInn/FSCopilot) in the "Trusted" section. If there are entries delete them as well.Have a good read of the install info http://www.vatsim.net/pilots/pilotsclients/fsinn/fsinn-install/ and if you are still having trouble may I suggest that you head over to the VATSIM forum and search/post regarding your issue.

Hello RobertThank you for responding. Yes, I am referring to that tab inside FS at the top. It's from there that I connect to FSInn - and I've never had a problem with it - until I installed the newly purchased Airbus X from Aerosoft and ERJ from Feelthere. I went to the Vatsim website and clicked on FSinn (to intall) I clicked on the FSInn1.3_fccoplilot1.7.zip. It installs all the way thru. Then at the very end, I get the error msg. I have tried installing it as an Admin, but I still get the msg. I've tried to install the copilot first then fsinn and vice versa - no change. Warren

Hi Warren,You have to install FSCopilot first followed by FSInn, that could be why you are receiving the error message. Looks like there is an ERJ install issue which isn't a surprise really. I recall reading in the past that it messes up the DLL.xml but in this case it isn't it but it is interesting that you are having issues after installing the Wilco ERJ.I did a quick search using google "FSX Addon mneu missing" and found the following post http://forum.avsim.net/topic/340795-fsx-add-ons-menu-missing/page__view__findpost__p__2030561Read the info at the bottom of John's post where it reads:

Notice how most of each line ends with a 2? BEFORE editing, some had 0's and some had 1's. By changing them ALL to 2, I was able to get FSX to PROMPT me again for the add-ons, yes or no to trust. Saying YES to all got my menu back, I can now launch SB again. :) I am guessing the 0's are what hosed me, but I changed them ALL to 2's and let FSX prompt me when launched. When I ran it again, it worked. :) I now have my add-ons menu back.
I think it might help you with your issue. Good luck.

Uninstall FSInn, the uninstall FSCopilot, delete the orphan folders, and reinstall. In the case of an error message claiming FSInn is already installed, some have run a freeware registry cleaner, tried again, and found they can now reinstall FSInn.

Like all of the helpful ideas above, all i can add is download yourself REVO uninstaller and use it to remove the old FSInn ans FSCopilot.Install FSCopilot first (Very important) and remember to run both as administrator. This will hopefully fix your issue.

I had this same problem a while back. The only way I finally got it fixed was to also remove the .dll and the 'trusted' gauge, then reinstall.
