March 11, 201214 yr Hi all,After many years of using FSX I find myself still flying without Autogen scenery.I use a GTX 580 card and the latest driver.Use the Sandy Bridge I7 - 2400k CPU with standard settings.I would like to have some trees and buildings around the airports butkeep getting texture flashes on the ground and around the sky. It's not doing FSX any harm but becomes very annoying. It stops the moment I disable Autogen.I have tried bufferpools, frame rate limiter ( 30 FPS) and some other stuffbut so far always the same result.Any other advise and or tricks will be very welcome.Kind Regards , Rick melcher RICK MELCHER Melbourne, Australia Frustrated armchair Pilot
March 12, 201214 yr Is that i7 2400K at stock speed or is it overclocked?Something is overloading your system. What other settings do you have in FSX?Andrew Andrew Entwistle
March 12, 201214 yr Commercial Member Have you tried adjusting the settings on your card? There's a sticky from Ryan (Tabs) that explains how you should set up your nvidia card (you will need to download "nvidia enhancer" - it's an .EXE file that doesn't even need to be installed in the typical sense, just run it and use the sticky as guidance). Ryan's post meanwhile refers to another tool called nvidia Inspector. ------------------------ Regards, Otto Schäfer

Ryan's post meanwhile refers to another tool called nvidia Inspector.Inspector is what I meant. Sorry for that. Not sure what I was thinking on that one, but inspector is what I'm running. The newer versions have a frame limiter in them, too, eliminating the need for the messy frame limiter on Bojote's site. It also allows you to use the shader mod, unlike the other one. Kyle Rodgers
March 12, 201214 yr What version of the nvidia driver are you using and with what card? I'm using old version 258.96 with a GTS8800 (512MB). Didn't see any need for upgrading, but the built-in limiter seems to be intresting. ------------------------ Regards, Otto Schäfer
March 12, 201214 yr Commercial Member Not sure what driver you need for it, but like I said, it's a standalone EXE, so it's worth a shot. It also remembers defaults, so if you mess up your FSX video profile, you can wipe them back to the defaults. You may need a customized XML for it. If you can't find it, I can track it down for you. It's apparently been a background setting for quite some time. Kyle Rodgers
