Autopilot clicks off during flight

Featured Replies

Hi All. In my PA46T Malibu, the autopilot clicks OFF on it's own. I only notice this when I observe that the aircraft is no longer following the Flight Plan. Upon checking the Autopilot the switch will be in the OFF position. I reset the Autopilot and soon it happens again and again. Does anyone have a suggestion? Also, is there a pop-up for the overhead. Panning up does not give a good view.Dave

Hi Dave,I have the same problem witht the AP and also with the Garmin that from time to time they went off and I need to restart them again. I have it not regularly but from time to time. I dont know exactly the reason for this bug but hopefully Carenado will work on a fix.Cheers,Mark

Hi guys, I'm shooting from the hip here and no doubt someone will come along with an alternative option. But... it doesn't have the same feature as the NGX does it? ie. any movement of the yoke and the AP will automatically disengage? Just a thought...

Hi Howard, unfortunately not. Even if you dont touch the yoke the AP switch off.Cheers,Mark

Guys,This was an issue with the T210. The auto pilot would just click off as well. So far, nothing has been done about this.

Sheesh, that is a bummer... I am unfamiliar with the aircraft, but it seems a pretty bad result to think that something so intrinsic has seemingly gone undetected at the beta stage.

No Bert this is not the case must be another issue

This is completely random for me but seems to happen when i make no interactions for a while. For example:I take off - reach Cruise Alt - A/P on, following Flight Plan - and just let it fly while i go watch TV until almost decent.. when i come back.. all the Stec lights will be on and the plane will not be holding alt or hdg.2nd scenario:I do the same but stay with the plane, constantly changing views making changes to PFD, inst scans, etc,- it does not happen.
