Thanks loads Allcott:Switched to that site and the download started at 240 kb/sec. Slowed down to about 104 kb/sec now, but was at about one-hundredth that speed on my previous two tries here. By the time I got this reply completed, the download was finished, took a whole 5 min. and 12 seconds. I have been trying here on AvSim for about the last six hours. Thanks again:RTH

Thank you for informing me about this plane :) It works brilliantly with my old PC ..... very good on frame rates :)

Lovely model - flies well - looks good----BUT...........For some reason, as soon as I cycle thru the views ( 2D/VC/Tower/Spot) the frame rate dies from around 28-30 (locked to 8-10. Removing the VC section of the Panel.cfg cures this and we stay at 28-30. No problem to me as I never use VC , but I wonder why-- doesn't happen with any other aircraft I have ( Including another F-18)Dave

I'm having the same issue. I really love this thing though. The developers really did a great job. Took me several tries to get her down on deck gracefully, but thats half the fun. FYI....145kts, full flaps and speedbrakes, 800FPM descent, and change the view to see the deck better(4 clicks up worked for me in VC). I fly VC most of the time, so a cure for this would be great. I wonder if it has to do with the HSI gauge. It seems to use the FS9 GPS with an EHSI superimposed on top. Really cool idea, but we all know how that GPS hits the framerates. Also love the PFD. Did you see the vents that open above the engines when you throttle up? And the way the rudders move in for sppedbrakes? All in all, this is a must have plane, one of the best freeware packages ever with all the different models and paint schemes. Great job guys.:-beerchug

This is a beautiful model. I hear Milan Lisner has one too but that he is perfecting it so hasnt released it. I do wonder about the FDEthough. I was able to do a cobra maneuver in this one with a fully laden plane repeatedly. I bet this plane has some AoA limiters in the computer. A great, great aircraft though!Eric

Could someone help me with getting rid of the VC issue? I would rather keEp the frame rate up here. I may even replace this pit with Milan's. I have his model working in FS9 albeit minus a few animations and the burner cans. He IS working on it in GMAX. While this is a superb model, Milan's F-18C is still a bit better/more polished with a much better flight model. This one is a bit off, especially the stall. You can really horse the Super bug around a good bit before it departs. This one departs as soon as I put a few G's on it! Milans 2d/VC is probably the single best military pit I have seen in this sim besides the F-104 from Captain Sim.Hornit
