I expect you to tell us, Stephen.
LOL, not this time. I am going to hold tight and see if the jump will be really worth it. Between this and Ivy, I want to be a follower this time!Kind regards,

After 2 months waiting for my 480 to be fixed, they agreed to send me a 600 series replacement. Not sure which one yet but probably a 660 or 670.Who knows, if TXAA is as good as they say we might just get away with $200 cards and optimal IQ

Yes on 1.6V maybe, enjoy your fried processor! :LMAO:The big question is not how it will perform, cuz it will perform at least 30% better in most games, but the big question is, how it will perform in FSX? I hope just as well as in other games! Imagine, getting 60 fps in the NGX in all cases, running above monitor refresh rate and never having microstuttering and hitching anymore!

Well.... With these wicked fast cards, it will be neccesary to have a very fast CPU in order to feed it what it needs in FSX.If you have an i7 9XX series at 4GHZ and you slap one of the 680's in your system, it will make minimal difference. But, if you have an IB at 5.5GHZ+ THEN, we might see the performance jump that we are looking for.

And what do you think of a 4.7 GHz overclock? 5.5 GHz will at least need 1.5 on IB, I don't wanna fry my processor after a few months already. I don't like to go above 1.4V, 1.45V maximum.

An OC group sent an IB to 5GHZ @ 1.2volts.....

So, who wants my 580? B)Man, those are some awesome results. It's amazing what new GPUs are always capable of.

All I care about at the moment is how will it perform in FSX. No doubt it's great in other games. But I doubt it will perform much better. As far as the benchmarks show, the GTX 680 performs around 50% better than the GTX 580. Well, FSX uses around 75% CPU and 25% CPU. So this will mean that we will probably get around 0.5 x 25% = ~12.5% performance increase. So probably around 5-10 fps more, although I'm hoping for much better results!

You make assumptions without considering what IQ is being used on the card. 560ti could perform the same as a 580 in FSX if you take away the IQ. So is 680 going to (of course it's going to be a little faster, but as I benchmarked 285 vs 580, smallest differences were without IQ). But crank up the volume, IQ, quality and whatnot, and here you'll be seeing major differences. Most people though won't have an idea what TXAA or 8xS or SGSS is...
