iPad/Iphone Problems Post Update

Featured Replies

The full version button is supposed to load the normal web page version instead of mobile version. It will look the same as on your desktop computer.

Hi Bugor, it certainly doesn't do that (items entered on Tracker for details of both issues highlighted).

Many thanks for sorting it out - now back to normal on IPad

Best Wishes

Before the update I could select the forum using either "mobile" or "full" mode and I invariably used the full (normal) mode. Since the update this facility has been lost - the forum always loads in mobile mode and selecting full mode has no effect. Using IPhone or IPad, we are stuck in mobile mode.Wondered if anyone else was seeing this?John R

"mobile mode" has been killed as a process / skin here. What you are seeing is either TapaTalk or ForumRunner. I suggest that you get the $1.99 IPS app for IPAD and use it. It is the best in my opinion for accessing AVSIM remotely.

Hi Tom,

Not sure I understand your last?

My post today was to thank you guys for sorting it out {as promised} so that we don't need to use TapaTalk or ForumRunner - whatever they are. I did not need them originally, didn't download them and don't need them now - I have the new, great AVSIm directly to my IPad without the need for any intermediate app.

As above, many thanks

Tom, I'm not sure I follow. My problem is I ONLY get the normal web page. I can scroll to the bottom of the page and select mobile version, but it defaults back to full when I return.

So are you saying the mobile version of Avsim is dead?

Glen

Glen, that is correct. Between the 'mobile' theme, which you could not exit once you were in it, and the two others, Tapatalk and ForumRunner that wanted to take over too, I shut the mobile "theme" down. When the IPS app was upgraded and released last week, that was the answer in my opinion. Frankly, the mobile apps and issues with Ipad / Ipod and Adroid browsers almost led me to shut down ALL mobile settings. For the number of users actually putting them to use, the time demand on forum admins was too much. Now we seem to have struck a happy balance.

Thanks for the reply Tom. I bouught the Forum Rummer Program on your advise back during the Forum Upgrade, But it seems to be in need of an upgrade as well. It gives me erors when trying to use it. But I see a post from Chase noting the issue.

Cheers Guys, top menu bar now rendering and working on homepage on iOS/Safari.

I'm sorry but I'm not a big fan off the app and found the mobile website much easier and faster to navigate on my iPhone.

It's made my visits to this forum less regular. It would be nice to see the mobile site brought back.

Thank you, Tom. This looks great now that mobile mode is turned off.

Sincerely,

Chase
