March 23, 201214 yr Hello to everyone,I have a quick question. Couldn't find up to date topics, so I want to ask you if it is possible to play a shared cockpit session on the internet with the NGX. Me and a friend are trying to decide which plane to buy that would do the trick for us. Thank you! :) Mateusz Kapusta
March 23, 201214 yr Shared cockpit hasn't been incorporated yet. It's something they want to add, but I'm not aware of any schedule for it. Kenneth Weir My Saitek yoke mod i7 2600k @ 4.7 8GB Gskill CAS7 2x GTX580 SLI Surround + GT520 Accessory Win7x64
March 23, 201214 yr Commercial Member I'm not speaking for the company... nor am I quoting any posts made by PMDG. I'm simply providing my impression, as this is something near and dear to my heart as I've been flying Multi-Crew (shared cockpit).Prior to the release of the NGX, PMDG stated that Multi-Crew (shared cockpit) would be included down the line. Later it was announced that it might be included in Service Pack 2. A few months ago (I believe it was Ryan) stated that due to problems, they MAY incorporate Multi-Crew. For those watching closely, this was a departure from earlier statements that it would be included. In fact, the PMDG gouge went from "might include", to "would be included", and the latest statement was "might be included". Please let me make this clear. I wouldn't even consider trying to hold PMDG accountable for statements made in the past on this subject, as obviously such statements where made with the best of intensions and in an effort to keep those interested in the subject informed. I would rather have more information on the future and potnetial of the project than less information. In the end, only PMDG knows if this will be possible for the NGX. I for one certainly hope it will be, but if not then the NGX Simulator is still set many milestones in the FSX community, and I've very much enjoyed having the aircraft in my stable. For the present, if you're interested in another milestone simulator (and it's a full up sim, so be prepared to read), then I highly recommend the Leonardo Maddog MD-80 (I fly her multi-crew on VATSIM frequently configured as a Delta MD-88). Also, the Fokker is multi-crew capable, but suffers from several problems that have long gone unaddressed so I can't recommend that aircrash). For small aircraft, the RealAir Turbine Duke has a stable mult-crew capability. For fighter jocks, take a look at the IRIS F-15E Mudhen. I've flown her in Multi-Crew and had a great time doing so. For the future, Majestic's extremely fine Dash-8 Q400 will be Multi-crew capable and will also be another full-up simulator (I can't wait for that one). That I'm aware of, there has been no word from any other developer regarding their interest in Multi-Crew for any projects in development.Flying Mutl-Crew, especially on VATSIM and especially during large fly-ins continues to be the single most realistic experience I've had in flight simulation in well over 20 years. The guys I fly with use the checklists and procedures, which goes a long way in creating the experience. The only thing we haven't done yet is add failures to the mix, but to be honest we keep so busy and have so much fun that we're not in a hurry to do so.I hope this information has been of help to you. Remember that information I stated is my opinion only, and does not come directly from the folks at PMDG nor have a quoted them. It's just what I've been able to gleem from their past posts and may not represent the status of Multi-Crew development for the NGX.Oh, counting the seconds until someone brings up FS2Crew and the other programs that provide an AI co-pilot... just not the same.Best wishes.Dave Dave Hodges System Specs: I9-13900KF, NVIDIA 4070TI, Quest 3, Multiple Displays, Lots of TERRIFIC friends, 3 cats, and a wonderfully stubborn wife.
March 23, 201214 yr so I can't recommend that aircrash)One has to wonder. However I do agree :) It is a shame there.I do also agree on all other counts. Multicrew with a similarly oriented fellow simmer, if trained in MCC, is a great experience, only surpassed by flying online in a proper (home)cockpit - and I have done both and I have loved both.Regarding PMDG statements, I think Ryan has said that one major hurdle they were having problems with, or were expecting to, was network programming (understandably so). Some folks have offered to help and I think the last statement, at time of SP1c included that MCC is on a good way to be included in one of the future updates. --Peter Fabian
