March 24, 201214 yr Although flight works fine in full screen mode it only runs in a third of the screen when in windows mode and the maximize button is grayed out. What must I do to be able to maximize the window size to fill the screen when in windows mode?Sorry about the stupid question obviously I only need to stretch the windows to any size :Hypnotized: Regards John (Bird) 4.6GHz OC, Windows 10 Creator, 16GB RAM, 780 Ti SC 3GB, SSDs Thrust master HOTAS Warthog, Virtual-Fly TQ3, CH Pro Rudder Pedals, 40 inch 4K Philips screen, CV1 Touch, AFS2, P3D4

March 24, 201214 yr Sorry about the stupid question obviously I only need to stretch the windows to any sizeHey there are no stupid questions! While I prefer maximized over windowed mode, I did run a job flight few days ago in windowed mode as I wanted to observe some perfomance related data during that flight to get a baseline for how my system performs with Flight. Will be replacing my GTX 460 1gb card with a new GTX 560 Ti 2gb card here shortly, hopefully later today - and I will be able to compare to see how much this new vid card benefits Flight... wow did I digress or what... sorry bout that .Anyways as I was about to say - I was surpised by default when opening in windowed mode, it did start out in a fairly small window. I did though realize fairly quickly I could simply stretch it to fill up my monitor's screen. Only problem with doing that, is the sim has to reload the graphics to accomodate, if one is in the middle of a Flight when switching to windowed mode from maximum. But the sim handles it very well, in fact handles that along with switching back and forth, pausing and minimizing to desktop for hours then resuming, things like that very well. Can't even say that about our beloved FSX... the Flight team did a good job in this respect. But it would be nice if one starts in windowed mode, if it automatically started positioned to fill all the real estate in the monitor it is running on.Btw when I was running that flight in windowed mode to gather some performance data, I got the impression that while it still runs very good in the performance arena, on my system at least I think it did take a small hit in that regard - saw a little more microstuttering than I ever saw when I run full screen mode. Namely in exterior mode flying over dense terrain. In full window, I only would see the microstutter , when over dense terrain and in fly by view. In windowed mode, I saw it in just exterior camera mode, not just in the fly by view mode. All the above probably means squat to you and I am just rambling this morning for some reason...Have fun!! March 24, 201214 yr I have a problem with resizing the window. But only with the Flight application in windowed mode, all other work normal. When resizing the window, it will not fill the whole screen, or it fils the whole screen but the RH side is not visible, it`s outside of the screen, you can see a part on the 2nd screen.
March 24, 201214 yr Moderator Very gently "grab" the edge and nudge it slightly to the left. I have to do the same thing here, although for me it's for the other side. My 2nd monitor is to the left of the main 42" on the wall. Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
March 24, 201214 yr Not possible, there seems to be a ratio. As soon as i pull it over a certain dimension to the right (or left) the vertical size is also automatically adjusted. So i have 3 possibilties: cuted window at the side, cutted window at the lower edge, or small window that doesn`t fill the screen.
March 24, 201214 yr Moderator I only have a very tiny sliver (about 4 pixels) along the right edge that show that it's not really "full screen" in size. There's no gap at either the top, left, or bottom edges. Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
March 24, 201214 yr Not possible, there seems to be a ratio.Heimi,Are you running Flight, at your monitor's native resolution? Don B
March 24, 201214 yr If you have a 16*9 monitor set at native resolution, then you will most likely not be able to maximize on your screen in windowed mode right to the edges. A 16*10 monitor would probably fit better. Mine is the same since I'm running 16*9.
March 24, 201214 yr The game maintains his aspect ratio, if you want to cover all screen you have to hide the taskbar. | AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ Windsor 2.8GHz | Gigabyte M52S-S3P v1 | GForce 8600GT 512MB | 3 GB DDR2 @ 800Mhz | 320 GB HDD | DELL U2311H 23″ | WinXp sp3 x86 |
March 24, 201214 yr Moderator I use a 42" LED HDTV via HDMI cable, at 1920x1080 (16:9). My monitor's native resolution however is 16:10...There is a setting at the top of the Flight.cfg file for setting your default window position/size: [MAIN]Location=0,0,1920,1110,.DISPLAY1User Objects=Airplane, Helicopter[DisplayConfiguration:0 - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti:1 - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti]Fullscreen=0VerticalSync=1Display.0=1920x1080,0...so, note that I've set the height to 1110 instead of 1080...
