crashd.pngIt's ok.. It was only while getting ready for final after 90min flight. NP FSX, guess your own partition didn't really help after all./rant

Tell me how do you get a "sound issue"? Since using FSX i've seen everything, from BEX, NTDLL, 3d9, window.dll, automationcore.dll.. etc etc etc etc..Today, after 2 years on this system with 0 problems in other games (ZERO!!!!) i get sound.dllfsx GTFO. Gave up on FSX 100 times already, guess this will be 101

Ahhhh.... the charms of FSX. Just must love it. No other way.One advice:google slimdrivers. download. install.

Faulting Module Name: Sound.dll - says so - right in the error message..

All my drivers are up to date. (except video drivers from jan 2012)Not that it matters. FSX crashed 2 years ago and it crashes now

Did you run slimdrivers???Mine doesn't. Each flight, since Pete brought out the g3d.dll error fix, is a success for me.

Tried Slimdrivers, found 1 update.Next I ran my installed DriverMax Pro, found 13updates! Well, what do we want? Freware, as a bait to buy the Pro Version, or just go ahead and buy the best?http://www.drivermax.com/

Geez a 90 min flight and she blows up. P3D is the only answer. At least LM is working on some solid code to avoid stuff like this.Bob

Officially retired

Interesting. Man, it was just an idea. My computer worked well before, as it did after.

:( Man - I'm dyin' here!!

Most likely since you are flying the NGX you probably ran out of Virtual Address Space. The NGX is the most resource intensive addon out there, and it wouldn't take much to push FSX too far. This could result in an Out of Memory error, or a CTD, at just about any location in the program. Try to start FSX with the least amount of memory used. The way I do it is set all the DLL's that I don't need loaded in memory on every flight set with ManualLoad=TRUE, in the dll.xml file. When I start FSX it will ask me if I want each one loaded. I say no to all but the one's I'm using for that particular session. In this case the PMDG 737 HUD dll.

Thanks

And why is that Pauly?

er... 'cos the error message tells one what the problem is, or at least it's a starting point. First thing - if it's a SoundBlaster card - is remove it and switch to the onboard driver. If not - then reload the mobo's sound drivers from the dvd, or down;load newer ones.If it's virtual address space - the error message is quite different - same if it's an OOM error - different message again: Bob says move to P3D... I like that one myself, but it's going to come with its' own set of problems, just as FSX over FS9 did. ... and Squish simply denies it could be a sound.dll issue, as it's worked just fine for two years..

Today, after 2 years on this system with 0 problems in other games (ZERO!!!!) i get sound.dll

Yeah, I got all of that. Squishy is a bit... squishy :)But I simply didn't (don't) understand why you are dying here... but it doesn't even matter!
