Config Manager can't access FS2Crew folders

Featured Replies

I have installed FS2Crew NGX 3 times now. The Config Manager starts up OK, but refuses to take inputs. If I ask it to configure for Voice or Button, it comes up and says it can't access the FSX/FSCrew2010\Versiions\PMDG737NGX\BackupRestoreEEXEs\SetPanelCfg_FSX.exe. The error message I get is "Windows cannot access the specified device, file or path. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."I'm running FSX and FS2Crew in Administrator mode, and have uber permissions, so can't understand what's wrong.Anyone got any ideas?

Disable that damn UAC in Windows once and for all.

Kind regards

Peter

Ha ha, yeah man, first thing I do when I load Windows :D

Nope, just double checked, no sign of 'Read Only' on the entire FSX drive :)

Yep, I'm just uninstalling it and reinstalling it with Admin rights, although I have Admin rights under my own username!

Yep, UAC is off. I never have it set on my PCs. As I said above, it;s the first thing I do whenever I install Win 7 :)I'm using Win 7 64 bit, 8Gb RAM, Intel i5 and a decent video cardMike

By the way, none of the other links on the Config Manager work either. I can't access the online manual, the support forum, or any of the other links

Check your user account permissions and make sure you have permission to do everything.Disable UAC and reboot as this does cause problems.Depending on your firewall and antivirus software you use, you may have to disable both of them when installing FS2crew. If none of the above work, check if your antivirus software checks for malware. Maybe you have picked up malware on your machine.

OK, done all that. Uninstalled FSCrew and reinstalled SP1, still the same. None of the links work from the Configuration Manager screen, and I'm not getting a request for access to the Internet from Comodo firewall. Windows firewall is disabled. No security threats according to MS Security Essentials. Next? ;-)
