March 31, 201214 yr Someone clarify the SP1 change-log/instructions - I've always had the NGX Options setup so that when I, the PF/Captian, change the Altimeter setting/STD button on the Captians side, the Captain's standby altimeter and the FO's/PNF altimters settings are sync'd to my action. Is the SP1 change log telling me to reverse this setup so all altimeters are sync'd from the FO/PNF side? Why? I'm so confused, LOL.. :( Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
March 31, 201214 yr Commercial Member Hi Al,I'll double check the instructions, but basically the FO's altimeter needs to be synced to the Captain's altimeter. So whatever you put in your Altimeter should also show up in the FO's altimeter.Don't sync the Standby Altimeter though. You should set that to local pressure before the TOD.Clear as mud :( Cheers, B. March 31, 201214 yr Author Perfect 'Mud', Bryan, LOL....Yes, please re-read/edit that section in your SP1 instructions - it really seemed to indicate the other-way around.Regards, Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
March 31, 201214 yr Author Just curious, how come you don't pull the arrival altimeter from the FMC Descent Forecast page, just like you do for Transition Altitude? Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
April 1, 201214 yr Commercial Member Hi Al,We pull the 'Transition Level' from the FMC Descent Forecast page. That's what the FO bases his "Transition Level" call on. B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
April 1, 201214 yr Author Understood, my point is, you enter the arrival ISA temp deviation and pressures setting is on that exact same Forecast page.So it got me thinking, why didn't you pull all the info you can off the descent forecast page? Why the standby altimiter guage for arrival pressure? It's just a thought - although my wife says, "that gets me in trouble" :( LOL... Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE

April 1, 201214 yr Author Oh, so Bryan's instruction about the Standby Altimeter in post # 2 above is just a procedural (best practice) thing - not actively read or used by FS2Crew? Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
