Am I Being Paranoid?

Featured Replies

I'm trying to install the SDK from either the FSX Deluxe disk or the FSX Acceleration disk. I am trying on two different computers and MS Windows takes simply ages to even open the CD to view files. Even opening up the SDK folder takes ages.Same problems on main PC and Toshiba laptop.Paranoia: have MS put out one of their famous Tuesday fixes that prevents users accessing MS FSX disks?Or is it simply that the CDs don't work in Blueray drives?

I couldn't read mine in windows explorer either, I think it has to do with the copy protection. I was able to "dir" the disks from a command window and managed to figure out what needed to be run though, it goes like this:with the 1st FSX disk in the drive install the basic FSX deluxe SDK first with:[drive letter]:SDKsetup.exeThen with the Accel disk in the drive:update to SP1a with[drive letter]:SDKSP1afsx_sdk_sp1a.exeAnd then finally install the Accel SDK with:[drive letter]:SDKsdk.msiOf course substitue the letter of your DVD drive for [drive letter], and you can paste those commands into the "Run" box which is found under Programs > Accessories by default in Win7.Jim
