April 1, 201214 yr Hey everyone,I recently installed FSX (using NickN's guide) on our new desktop and it runs great...however, I still get some strange bugs/glitches... The sky is like a huge tiled dome. The runways are made of squares?! Same for the window/glass reflections...not on the aircraft though :( Terrain textures have a very unique "square" pattern. They all appear at random...I have tried it using various settings to no avail.System Specs:Windows 7 64-bitIntel Core i5-2320 @ 3.00GHz6GB DDR3-1333MHzAMD Radeon HD7350 512MBAll drivers, etc. are up to date. If more info is needed just let me know. Any help is greatly appreciated.Regards,Natanaël
April 1, 201214 yr Do you have any addons like Ultimate Terrain X or GEX or REX or FEX installed? It may be any landclass, like UTX, or mesh scenery is not telling your scenery what textures to install. Could be simply an issue with layering in the Scenery Library.Best regards,Jim
April 1, 201214 yr It´s your GPU, look here:http://www.anandtech...rks-rides-againStatement removed by Mod SF. Publically calling a certain company "crooks" is highly inappropriate and probably libelous. In AVSIM such over the top accusations are not permitted. Thank you.Don´t buy AMD/ATI for FSX!!!Totally unsuited for FSX IMO...What about the CPU, any overclock? What is your PC, an OEM?

Your rant isn't helpful to the OP, and it doesn't belong here.He stated his PC specs fine. OEM or not, you have the specs. April 1, 201214 yr Author Thanks for your quick replies guys. Do you have any addons like Ultimate Terrain X or GEX or REX or FEX installed? Could be simply an issue with layering in the Scenery Library. No, I don't have any of these particular addons...I had the same problems running stock FSX.It´s your GPU, look here:http://www.anandtech...rks-rides-againStatement removed by Mod SF. Thank you.Don´t buy AMD/ATI for FSX!!!Totally unsuited for FSX IMO...What about the CPU, any overclock? What is your PC, an OEM?Yes, I was aware about the rebranding when buying this computer. We got the lowest GPU possible since we were planning on replacing it anyways...although I must say that this card delivers more than expected. The i5-2320, as far as I know, is not overclockable though I really doubt it's the CPU causing the problems.Do you guys think replacing the GPU is the only solution?Regards,Natanaël
April 1, 201214 yr Geez you guys! Please stop quoting Alib so I don't have to keep copy and pasting my red letter warnings! :(

April 2, 201214 yr Do you guys think replacing the GPU is the only solution? It does look like it's your GPU. You said you had the problem with a basic/stock install of FSX. Therefore my vote is for replacing the GPU.Best regards,Jim

The card he has may not run FSX fast but it should display properly.Assuming FSX installed properly without a glitch. I would do a complete driver uninstall. Boot to safe mode then run Driver Sweeper. Then reboot again and fresh install video drivers.

Never did that before...how would my computer run without the graphics driver? Also, when I google "driver sweeper" I get all kinds of beware and don't use for ATI drivers & Windows 7?!

Also, when I google "driver sweeper" I get all kinds of beware and don't use for ATI drivers & Windows 7?! Driver Sweeper is fine, I've used it many times to do a complete clean of vid, physics, sound, drivers. After you uninstall CCC and all AMD vid related driver through Control Panel/Programs(Vista here). Reboot into safe mode. The Advanced Boot Options screen lets you start Windows in advanced troubleshooting modes. You can access this menu by turning on your computer and pressing the F8 key as computer starts. Once in safe mode Windows, run Driver Sweeper and uninstall all remaining vid driver bits. Reboot again and reinstall vid drivers normally.

April 11, 201214 yr Author Just a little update... For some odd reason (and without me doing anything) the squares just disappeared ...at least most of them. Window "reflections" are crisp and clear...we'll just wait till the GTX660 comes out and go from there. Thanks for all the input guys! I appreciate it. Natanaël
