Unless they find some way of unlocked the weapon systems on the USAF RV6, I really dont see them blocking enjoyment of the game just because they can unlock a few achievements.

Considering that those achievements give you nothing but a number I really don't see an ounce of hacking there....

I fear that FLight will have to suffer the invasion oh Hackers, that have ruined so many other online games. I forsee 500kt Rvs and instant level 20 players w/ 100% achievements. Oh well such is modern gaming IMO.

 

You forget one thing: Flight isn't an online game. It's a single player game with a multiplayer mode. So there's nothing here to "ruin", except the "hacker's" own personal experience.

If anything, anyone hacking the game would be doing us a favour... they might unlock the ability for us to mod the game files and create third party content :D

An aside from the O/P -

 

I did all the landing missions in MS Flight but didn't get gold on all (on some I didn't even get bronze)

but the idea of doing those missions over and over and over and over again

ONLY to get gold... for what...?

Not my idea of fun.

Like yourself I was initially struggling with the Landing Challenges.

 

Not so much with those that were airport-runway based,

but more so with the non-airport bush-strip L/Cs.

 

I've never felt so frustrated,

died so frequently / spectacularly / or needlessly,

yet had so much fun, in a long time.

 

 

 

The following is a retrospective analysis,

from a chopper, lapsed/non-plank, flyer's POV,

so YMMV -

 

After a while

I'd found my L/C performance was no longer improving,

so instead,

started flying lots of passenger, cargo, and clandestine, Jobs Board tasks.

 

Their different monitoring & feedback mechanisms,

through all aspects of the flight,

gave me better insight to my foibles & inconsistencies.

 

 

 

My aircraft handling accuracy

also benefitted from attempting & persisting with

those much malignedGold Rush challenges.

 

 

 

On resuming my various incomplete L/Cs

I was surprised to find my capabilities & consistency, very much improved.

 

Personally I got quite a buzz

each time I eventually achieved one of the Golds.

 

 

 

Whilst with me,

it definitely wasn't a case of "practice makes perfect",

as my destroyed aircraft count is still climbing,

however overall,

persistance with these landing challenges

substantially improved on my previously slapdash technique.

 

 

 

Definitely recommend sticking with the L/Cs

after all,

would you trust cargo, let alone passengers,

to a pilot who couldn't land consistently ?

 

 

 

On a personal note -

 

I'd really love to see

all users locked-out of future complex aircraft DLC

until they'd passed some similar competency-based sklll tests.
