April 4, 201214 yr The last 4 or 5 Aerocaches I've found just aren't being saved and I've now done them three times over. Anyone else had this issue?
April 4, 201214 yr it didn't work the day of the update, but after it worked fine. I installed the Steam version and it works fine too. Are you using the Steam version for the GFWL version? Alex Leung Aerospace Engineering Undergraduate Glider & Private Pilot via Royal Canadian Air Cadets
April 4, 201214 yr The Flight Servers are still not recording daily aerocaches when using the GFWL install and update. (You can get it, but the next time you restart Flight it will be available again, I guess same goes for other aerocaches) Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
April 4, 201214 yr I am seeing this as well since I got the update. I'm reluctant to go for any of my remaining aerocaches or to do any of the missions, jobs, etc, until this is fixed. - Peter C http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bob_and_Ray_Show

You can give them a try, worst case scenario you will gain lots of XP. I got some 50,000 XP points yesterday with the Satellite Communications Site. Even got it while flying inverted. I’m pretty sure Missions and Jobs will get web updated once the Servers are working as expected. (That info is also stored in your PC) Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.

April 4, 201214 yr Author Are you using the Steam version for the GFWL version? Am I better off installing the Steam version? How do you go about doing this when the original version is installed? Do you lose any settings?
April 4, 201214 yr There is no difference between the steam version and the original version. The only thing is that steam auto-updates your game, while the original asks you yes or no to update. But for me, the steam version increased my performance a little. Your choice. Alex Leung Aerospace Engineering Undergraduate Glider & Private Pilot via Royal Canadian Air Cadets
April 4, 201214 yr The only thing is that steam auto-updates your game, I don't let ANYTHING auto-update on my computer. It had damn sure better ask first, and give me the option to hold off until whatever more important thing I'm doing is done. Actually, there is one thing: my NOD32 virus definition. I even have the option to turn updates off while I'm gaming, but I already know it's not affecting anything. Unlike Windows Defender updates which tend to crash my system; those are now disabled. Steam auto-updating a game is not a selling point for me. It's a negative selling point. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
April 4, 201214 yr I am also reluctant to make any changes without further information. Seems to me that this should be an easy fix!
April 4, 201214 yr Well, steam only will update flight if the devs give them the update itself. Plus, if there is an update, GFWL will just tell you there is an update for Flight and ask you whether you want to install it or not. If you say no, you will be logged off Live. Your choice though. Back to the topic, the devs are still trying to fix the problem. If I'm correct, they will have an update within the next 3-7 days. Exactly, and it's still MY decision. For example, I do not have unlimited bandwidth. I may wish to hold off an update until additional bandwidth is freed up. I may be running an important download and do not wish to have another download interfere with that. Other people may have other reasons. But it's sufficient enough reason just to prefer being in control of what gets downloaded and when. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! April 4, 201214 yr Oh. Ok then. Never thought of that reason (prob because I'm 14). But I don't know what bandwidth is. Sorry bout the double post, but according to a dev, there may be a title update before the aerocache problem is fixed. I think this update is a "check to see if updating one thing will fix another" update. Alex Leung Aerospace Engineering Undergraduate Glider & Private Pilot via Royal Canadian Air Cadets
April 5, 201214 yr Oh. Ok then. Never thought of that reason (prob because I'm 14). But I don't know what bandwidth is. Hey, no problem! :D Please don't lose your enthusiasm. Bandwidth: In my case, I have a limited number of gigabytes I can download in a 30 day period. If I go over the limit, my download speed is cut back to just over what I'd get on a good dialup. Problem is, it'll stay that way until I get to 80% of the max before the speed goes back to normal. Good news is, in a month or two the company is moving to a new satellite with a much higher speed, but I'll have even less bandwidth unless I want to pay about 50% more per month. But instead of a 30 day rolling account on the download used, it resets at the beginning of the month, so I can download all I want early in the month without problems, just have to be careful at the end of the month. All this for the low low price of $85 per month... the joys of living in a rural location. If there were any other option, I'd already be on it. Some places in the world people still have to pay by the megabyte. Imagine having to pay a couple of hundred dollars for the "Free" download of Flight, over and above what they already pay just for the service. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! April 5, 201214 yr Oh. Thanks Hook for telling me what bandwidth is. I'm all smiles! Alex Leung Aerospace Engineering Undergraduate Glider & Private Pilot via Royal Canadian Air Cadets
