April 5, 201214 yr Yep! FLIGHT = No PITA with tweaking... Simply "Fly"!!! This would be great if Flight was a bit more than just "simple" flying (as in being just a simplified flightsim). ~ Arwen ~ Home Airfield: KHIE
April 5, 201214 yr Arwen you know better than me it can be used for some "serious" tasks, including IMC operations, proper use of navaids, etc.... under nasty weather! Never experienced (since FU2 & 3) in a flightsim the same sensation of "being there" like the one FLIGHT creates :-) As a RL pilot you can understand that I seek in each and every PC-based flight simulator the closer to real sensation of flying, because that's what I really dream doing almost all the time... Very few flightsims succeeded in mantaining me interested like FLIGHT has. I used about every flightsim you can name, from the various versions of MSFS, XPlane, Flight Unlimited, RTS-Pro, Protrainer, ELITE, Airline Simulator 2, ATP (various...), PS1, Condor, Silent Wings, IL2, and many others. Apart from Condor, which I still use, even if almost never since FLIGHT was released, and PS1 which I quited using because I am waiting for PSX, no other simulator has given me the same experience that FLIGHT, even with it's known limitations, gives me each time I fire it up :-) This would be great if Flight was a bit more than just "simple" flying (as in being just a simplified flightsim). April 5, 201214 yr Just load and program and fly. That sums it up for me. I have a Mac and I have XP 9 installed but after installing Flight I find that I no longer want to fly XP. I do need to boot to Windows to use Flight but it's still faster than setting up XP and I enjoy it so much more. Best flight sim since Flight Unlimited two.

But I have also stated that it doesn't do enough on the simulator end. That is what is so frustrating about Flight for me. ~ Arwen ~ Home Airfield: KHIE
April 5, 201214 yr I like both Flight and FSX. Two different beasts but both can be enjoyable. My first reaction to Flight was "Wow! Just get in and fly!" No time wasted messing around with tweaks and add-ons. Then a few people on the forum started suggesting some tweaks and I began to think, "Oh no ... here we go again". I can't help but wonder what will happen if/when Flight starts to get more scenery areas and other capabailities (e.g., ATC, etc.) WIll the FPS start to bo down and will more serious tweaking be needed? I use both Flight and FSX. I like Flight when I don't have a lot of time and I like FSX when I do have lotss of time for the "hobby". In fact I just bought ORBX PNW for FSX and love it. But I'll still use Flight from time to time. In fact one thing I like is that I can use Flight on my home office desktop computer as well as on my dedicated flight sim computer and I do not need two licenses, etc.
April 6, 201214 yr Author Well, I'll be dammed if I didn't use the FSX.cfg tweaker last night and went from 10-15fps over KSEA to locked right at 20 (where I have it set)! All this with no loss in eye candy! I took off from Kapalua on Maui and headed for the West Maui mountains, where I usually see a drop in fps due to the dense jungle there. Still locked at 20! I still like Flight and am hoping I'll have good reason to invest in Flight moving forward rather than FSX. But with my fps boost, I'm thinking about taking advantage of that ORBX sale...
