April 8, 201214 yr Hello folks, After a couple of weeks use, I am finding P3D very good - After years of FSX use, I always fly in Full Screen Mode - (for me) better frame rates and I don't like Windowed Mode that shows the top of screen? In any event, P3D installed and is working very well with the following exceptions: Full Screen Mode: 1. If I activate the ATC / or / it's activated auto., it comes up dead middle of screen. I then move it to upper left, however the ATC Window leaves image trails like shuffling cards. After a few seconds, they will leave. I can cancel/close the ATC window, but when activated, it's dead center of screen. 2. I have noticed that several functions, like pause, flaps, view do not work with my X52 Pro Saitek - the buttons I have assigned are the same as in FSX. OK Windowed Mode - ALL as well as the above problems are FINE - do not exist. Is P3D a "windowed mode" simulator? or am I doing something wrong. Your thoughts/help would be highley appreciated. April 8, 201214 yr A few have reported the issue with ATC in true full screen mode. For me it flashes on the screen for a second and then disappears and remains `buried' under the main screen. I can't see it and a transparent area where it is remains on the screen slightly distorting it. Windowed fullscreen works fine.. April 9, 201214 yr Author styckx, Thanks for your info and reply. "Me thinks", like in the beginning and for years to come with FSX, there will be bugs to work out. My Fullscreen does work fine - it's just the ATC issue and I have to use the keyboard to pause and a few other things, but it's very very promising. Thanks again and have a blessed one. cthiggin Tom Higginbotham - Montgomery, AL, USA
April 15, 201214 yr How exactly do you get P3D INTO full screen mode? :P Alt-Enter doesnt work for me but going in to view and clicking full screen does.
April 15, 201214 yr Commercial Member Alt-Enter doesnt work for me but going in to view and clicking full screen does. You have to hit it twice. Strange, but it worked for me under 1.2. Haven't used 1.3 yet. Brandon Filer
April 19, 201214 yr The only good thing about that ATC window is because it behaves like a separate window you can drag it off on to another monitor in window mode. I don't fly fullscreen for that exact reason. I think LM was talking about fixing it at some point. Tyson Rose
April 19, 201214 yr Author Hi folks, Well, I like full-screen mode, so my temporary fix is to drag the ATC over to my iPad and it solved the issue for me - "for now". cthiggin Tom Higginbotham - Montgomery, AL, USA
April 19, 201214 yr drag the ATC over to my iPad Hi Tom, how did you do this ? Andreas FSX Computer: I7-980X @4GHZ - Kingston DDR3 1066MHZ (7-7-7-20) - Gainwaird GTX285 1GB - 2x Raptor 150GB (1. Generation)
April 19, 201214 yr Author Andreas, I "tried" several apps, including AirDisplay, which didn't work due to the "lag time" - SO, after a lot of searching and reading reviews, I d/l'd xDisplay App from the app store. It was free. I then went to the "Splashtop" home website and downloaded the software for my fsx/P3D computer. Easy to install and their site tells you how to do it all. The "ONLY" drawback is that any of these type of apps do not work in full screen mode "at this time", but they work great with the Win7 Aero interface. I start the Splashtop Streamer on my pc, then I start xDisplay app on my iPad2, open P3D - after I've set up my flight etc., I open the ATC Window, Drag it off of my pc screen to the iPad, and ALL IS WELL. On the iPad I can use the touchscreen to call the ATC or answer the ATC. Works great. cthiggin Tom Higginbotham - Montgomery, AL, USA
