April 11, 201214 yr So I recently bought Anacortes from orbx and in the read me it says I need PNW? Do I really need that for the install to work?
April 11, 201214 yr Yes, the addon airports need parts from the base PNW to display correctly. Best, Michael KDFW
April 11, 201214 yr Superfly123, You won't regret adding the PNW area scenery....it is beautiful. Bill Windows 10 Pro, Ver 21H2 CPU I5-8600K 5.0GHz, GPU Nvidia RTX 3090 VRAM 24GB Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 7, 2TB M2.NVMe, RAM 32GB
April 11, 201214 yr If you have spent the money to get a custom airport, I highly suggest that the first time you run FSX after installation, that you run all graphic sliders at full out. Forget FPS on your system for a moment, and then see just what exactly ***IS*** in the scenery! Taxi around the airport and enjoy...then take off, (even at the risk of being clunky on your system, if any....) and then enjoy all the eye candy and upgrades to the island, town, marina(s) etc. Keep MESH at 5M so Obrx auto-gen buildings don't 'float' above the terrain in some elevated instances. After that if needs, be....start to dummy down visual output. You'd be amazed how many persons have these airports (Orbx) and have never seen 100 percent on the visuals this type of scenery file offers, as they already had some or all of their SCENERY sliders at less than the highest setting for each one. Enjoy...

Although your experience will be better with it, and although you will miss some elements (traffic?) if you don´t, it is not technically necessary to have PNW and you will certainly be able to install Anacortes. But it will not be integrated with the rest of the scenario. By the way, I also got Skagit and was positively surprised with that one.

Enjoy... I once try this and my CPU burned...I had to get a new CPU. haha...juast kidding. Though you may be able to see all the eye-candy stuff, you want to go easy at first. Some systems out there will refuse going all out, at once.

There are a number of problems with running the airports this way, which is why we don't recommend it. They weren't designed as stand-alones.
April 11, 201214 yr It doesn't cover the Anacortes area which you do really need the full version of PNW for to get the most of out of but don't forget the free time-unlimted demo which is already a pretty large area and includes Bowerman which is the airfield I fly from most of the time anyway despite having countless other PNW airfields I paid a lot of money for! You will need to uninstall the demo if you opt to upgrade to the full product. http://fullterrain.com/product_demos.html 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base
