April 12, 201214 yr Maybe just me, but I have a problem starting the engines, ..............my default is the B-58, with everything shut down, including the fuel valves...........after loading this, I switch to the B 90, and fo thru the Befrore Starting Engines amd the Engine Starting (Battery) checklist............but all I get is the engine repeating a partial start??.............Am I missing something like a closed fuel valve??.....have been usng the AFG B 300 and that should have a similar start up, but not with the B90.........been waiting a long time for such a beautiful model like this, so anxious to get it off the ground............thanks for the help!!..........B42L8
April 12, 201214 yr Perhaps the closed fuel valve is staying closed when you load the King Air. I would start with the default Trike (which doesn't have a fuel cutoff) and see if it's the same. That's the reason most developers recommend starting with a default (simple) plane. I had this issue before when I turned off the Avionics Master in the Cessna and the plane I was loading didn't have an Avionics Master. It retained the OFF state, but there was no switch to turn it on. Maybe that is happening with your fuel, since there is no Fuel Selector on the King. EddieKABQ
April 12, 201214 yr Commercial Member The C90 has fuel cutoff valves (well, the real one does), so I would expect the switches to actually do something. Ed Wilson Mindstar AviationMy Playland - I69
April 12, 201214 yr Maybe just me, but I have a problem starting the engines, .............. Hiya B42L8 --- well, I have had no trouble getting this machine started from a "cold and dark" state. Biggest problem I had at first, and others I have talked with have had, is remembering to get the CONDITION LEVERS up to maximum idle state which opens up available fuel. When the engines are shut down automatically, the condition levers go to the "fuel off" position. The rest is in the start up check list. It may be possible to start with the condition levers at low-idle but I have not used that approach yet. Good Luck ---- Bob :Big Grin: Bob Magill
April 13, 201214 yr Author thanks for the pointers, will check the default plane and watch where the LEVER is set..................B42L8
April 13, 201214 yr Hey B42 check on the fuel panel on the left side. See the Fuel gauges? Now look below them you will see a row of circuit breakers. On each end you have red guarded switches. Those are the fuel shut off switches. make sure they are NOT closed position.
April 13, 201214 yr Author Yup, had those open, just did a new install, when I tried the default trike, then to the B90, the right engine would not even turn over???, keft ne did, but still the repeat trys?............will try now that new install.................B42L8
April 14, 201214 yr Author UPDATE..........I started again with the default (Caranado B58, cold), the opened the fuel valves, then switched to the B90, and then thru the checklist and she started!!..............have no idea why that caused such a problem?? ..............Boy, have I got a lot to learn on this machine!!.........can't just hop in and go........haven't even figured out how to set the course bug, back to the manuals, I have t go to a local instructor just to run the simulator............anyway, thanks for all the support...........B42L8

Sounds like you got a good start up !! Yes, there is a learning curve so be patient. It will pay off in many fun hours of flying enjoyment. BTW, the course bug and heading bug are set with the CENTER of the knobs on the center console autopilot area. The wheel on your mouse does the trick on those. Some of us have modifed out EFIS with the addition of "touch areas" that work like the knob centers but are up on the gauge you are looking at while making the adjustments. I don't recommend you get into how to do that just yet :Big Grin: ----- learn the bird first. Now go have some more flying fun --- Cheers --- Bob ---- :Big Grin: Bob Magill
