"...typical 'rude' poster..."I agree Paul, not very helpful indeed.I agree with all the votes so far, but lean towards the PMDG Beech 1900, great aircraft and a good deal, even if it does have all the extras for the "eye candy" pilots.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/PBTMCa.jpgCalVirAir International VACougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviation[link:www.cgrmtnhelos.com]Cougar Mountain Helicopters

Thanks again guys! I really liked the links to the various aircraft sites, that's really what I was looking for. Now I can browse those sites and keep tabs on the aircraft I'm interested in. I think that the above posts are all great. it's good to get people to express this opinions on aircraft XYZ. Thanks again!!

Typical. 3 posts. Can you spell troll :)

Kris was a little short in his response, (which certainly wasn't the rudest I've ever seen) but he's certainly no troll.Check out the Fanda website to see firsthand the amount of work he has done to educate people about real world Dash 8 procedures. And no, I've never met the man.By the way, Kickin' Chicken, let us know what you think is the best Turboprop of the one's recommended.RegardsBlairCYOW

So far I like the PMDG B1900, the Flight1 ATR-42 and the Saab340. I have the Flight1 Meridian so I am familiar with their product. I have seen many posts regarding the PMDG software and their high quality. I don't know what I'd go with right now. I think I will have to wait for the ATR or Saab. But maybe the B1900 too, that model looks awesome! Thanks for all the feedback!!

"Typical. 3 posts. Can you spell troll?"Indeed, a positive place. You can call me as you wish; sticks and stones...Perhaps my 'wee rant was not required, but it is extremely frustrating when people are rating an airplane on only how it looks. It is unfortunate around this FS world that our little Dash-8 doesn't receive the extensive credit for which say the PMDG 737 would get. Don't get me wrong, I am proud owner of this awesome airplane, but the 'name on the street', if you will, is not what it should be for the Dash-8.In comparison to the Phoenix Dash-8, the sound is what sold me. Here is a small example.Phoenix Dash-8 Sound http://members.shaw.ca/kris7/phoenix.mp3Oleksiy Frolov Dash-8 Sound http://members.shaw.ca/kris7/fanda.mp3The choice is up to you.Regards,Kris Reaville

I gave up on Oleksiy's Dash-8 because I couldn'tread the panel. Think I'll give it another try now that I have largermonitor and better graphics card.Mike

"That freeware Dash 8 is just the default Microsoft model with a new (admittedly quite good) panel. It doesn't come close to the PSS bird in modelling real world operations."Jeroen,In the past i have been amazed about the things you write a couple of times. The above statement, however, makes it completely clear to me that you do not know what you are talking about. It is no problem that one does not know everything, it becomes a problem when one starts to pretend to know it all. The selfconfidence you use in making your wrong statements, makes me feel you are on a wrong track.Of course, this is my perception and I could be completely wrong. Best regards,Henri

George,I have to agree with Blair. Kris definitely is not a troll. Very helpfull on the other forum. And I have to admit that the best turboprop from systems point of view is Fanda's (Oleksiy Frolov) Dash 8-Q300. External models can be found much better elsewhere, but if you like realism inside the cockpit, this is your turboprop commuter plane.Best regards,Henri

"I gave up on Oleksiy's Dash-8 because I couldn'tread the panel."Hi Mike,Many people have run into this problem with the airplane. One of the drawbacks is that you must run FS at 1280x1024 to get the full readability intended by Oleksiy. I find my upper panel is very small, but pulling it out (or changing the *.cfg) makes it much more readable.Stop by the FSCentre forum and we

I'd vote for the B1900 again, simply for the turboprop dynamics they've come up with. The difference is amazing, especially when taxiing. You don't get that sudden jump in power when you initiate the taxi and then have to "dance" between the F1 key and your joystick throttle. The price, as others have said, is hard to beat, except by awesome freeware like the Dash8.Sometimes it's tough to make decisions when you've got so many great choices!

I have the 1900...I've flammed enough for one day though. What is this beta you are talking about RightSeat? The only airplane I can get into beta without playing the joystick-keyboard dance is the Dash-8.Kris

HEnri and Kris,I agree that the Fanda Dash 8 is one of the best, most realistic aircrfat out there. I fly it very regularly. In fact, the Fanda Dash 8, the PMDG 737NG, the SSW A310 and the RFP 747 are about all I fly. (Not very well on any of them:) ). My comment was based on Kris' response only, which I thought was a little abrasive to the original poster if that is who it was directed towards. I really get into the systems and operation of the aircraft, but some folks really don't. They just like the "eye candy". That's OK. That's why it's great that there are so many options available to the FS fans. The remarks in this thread about the Fanda having default gauges etc, etc, I just shrug of as remarks made by someone who hasen't a clue. Anyway, no big deal. I probably get into this crazy flight sim hobby way deeper than is healthy. *:-* Ya'll have a good one

No clue, I concur...Anyway, apart from the above suggestions allow me to remind everyone of that beautiful Fokker 50 panel made by Espen. Do you people remember it?Regards,
