Looking for top quality large Turboprop; please post su...

Hello, I'm relatively new to FS2004. I recently purchased Flight1's Meridian and it's a great aircraft. I'm now interested in a large ATR/Saab/Dash -type of turboprop aircraft. Anyone have suggestions? I would be willing to consider payware versions. I think the default King Air is ok, but I would like to fly something bigger. Thanks!

Hi,For freeware, you can't go far wrong with the AFG YS-11, a great turboprop.For payware, I mostly fly the Aerosoft ATR, no VC, but everything else is so good it never bothers me, although you may want to wait for F1's ATR.Dan.

Payware:www.phoenix-simulation.co.uk - dash 8www.simforums.com - check out flight1's ATR screenshots (Soon)www.aeroworx.com - King Air (Soon)also check fsd internationaland captainsim's C-130Regards,Andre

Thanks guys, I think the ATR42-500 might be the way to go. The screen shots for that plane look awesome! I have the Flight1 Meridian and I'm satisified with that company's products. Thanks again!

wait until FFS's SAAB 340. its going to be awesome

PSS Dash 8 it is, or if you're willing to wait a bit longer the Flight1 ATR72-500 which is in late stages of beta testing and looking very good indeed.That freeware Dash 8 is just the default Microsoft model with a new (admittedly quite good) panel. It doesn't come close to the PSS bird in modelling real world operations.

Hey kickin,For more details on the FFS Saab 340B, please got o www.ffs-sim.com

"with a new (admittedly quite good) panel. It doesn't come close tothe PSS bird in modelling real world operations."WHAT?, this statement is, I believe, COMPLETELY untrue, the freeware Oleskiy DASH totally surpases the PSS offering by a mile on RL op's, plus the sound is leaps and bounds ahead of anything.Alright, it might not have the eye candy and vc of the PSS bird, but for a real life panel, there is NO better freeware.It was designed to train RL DASH pilots.I just wish I'd have said the Oleskiy DASH when I posted earlier LOLDan.

One is very good plane is missing here...The freeware DHC Dash 7 from http://www.flightsimonline.com/It is fantastic - payware quality but all for free.Their Aero Commanders are also great - however they are smaller twin props.Cedar

One of the very best large turboprops is the Dash 7 - check it out at http://www.flightsimonline.com/The YS-11 is another freeware favorite. Be sure to read the manual on this one, but it flies very well and the latest upgrade (2.5 I think) is simply outstanding. You can take a look at http://www.alliedfsgroup.com/?RhZbkYiCnAlN...XqH2vX321XkYgjVThe Olesky Dash 8 is a good freeware aircraft if you like lots of procedures and checklists. Be prepared for a steep learning curve, but it does operate like the real thing. My biggest complaint was they made the dash labels so small, I couldn't read them, even on my 19 in monitor.For payware, I fly the PSS Dash 8, but I'm looking forward to the F1 ATR and possibly the new Saab.Dale

An outstanding turboprop is the An-24. It's free and it's in the library.I had set it aside for a while (while I learned Russian :-lol ) and just recently took it out of the hangar again. It's an amazing piece of work, visually and operationally.You won't be disappointed with Oleksy (Fanda's) Dash 8 either.BlairCYOW

It doesn't come close to the > PSS bird in modelling real world operations.I'm kinda lost here on exactly what your refering to. My interpretation of the word "real world operations" would be how, and what the pilot does when flying the airplane; from start up, flight, and shutdown. In that regard the Oleksiy Frolov Dash-8 works out in Spades. It models the airplane flight characteristics, and systems with a very high fidelity. I find the airplane very easy to fly, and the fact that it has a custom designed autopilot makes it just that more amazing. You just have to expereince the Touch Control Steering to appreciate it.The only thing of any signifigance that I find wrong with the external model is the lack of opening exits. The Frolov model also lacks a virtual cockpit. Since I find virtual cockpits annoying, I'm glad its missing. When I select left or right view, I want to see what's outside the window, not a whole bunch of artwork, and a tiny portal.Come take a test drive.Get the airplane -=- http://fandafans.fscentre.comTalk about it -=- http://forums.fscentre.com/index.php?showforum=6

lol, what a question. First you ask a question like "where can I find a good {insert something here?}
