April 21, 200422 yr I went through the list of installed aircraft and deselected for GA traffic those planes I did not want to use (such as fighter planes). I was careful to click "apply" for each choice and a "?" appeared next to those planes. When I closed the program and re-opened it later none of my deselections remained. All the "?s" had reverted back to green checkmarks.Doug
April 21, 200422 yr Markus, do you still need these cfg files? I saw where a new exe is available to fix this. (I just saw this message).Eric AND
April 22, 200422 yr Hi Doug, your right there is a bug. GA-Traffic didn't save the changes until you generate the flightplan. Sorry for this, I will fix the bug as soon as possible! Thanks for your message
April 22, 200422 yr Hi Eric,I tested the new version with three different cfg files which cause the crash, but maybe your problem is different. So send the cfg file to me so I could test it.Thanks for your help
May 18, 200422 yr Hi MarkusGA-Traffic was working fine on my system until today:-(When I went to generate a new flightplan file it works for about 20 seconds (saving airports or sometning?) then rather than starting to compile the traffic file (as it did do) it stops! My traffic file used to be anywhere between 30-80mb now it only around 0.5-2mb in size and appears to have only generated a few hundred flightplans (ie there were no UK airports included).I have reinstalled the software twice with the same problem - any ideas please? I am using the version 1 April release.RegardsAdamAdam Moorewww.hhuk.netWin XP Pro - Dell Dimension 4500P4 2.54 GHz - 1GB RAMHightech Radeon 128MB 9800Pro IceQ19" CRT 1600x1200 @ 100hzAudiophile 24/96FS2004 + UK2000 1/2/3/4/5/6/EGLL PROUK VFR 1/2/3/4Ultimate VFR : RealAir SF-260Ultimate IFR : PMDG 737-700NGUltimate FUN : RealAir Decathlon
May 19, 200422 yr Hi Adam, you use the version from 30. April Release 1?Did you check the 'Settings' Slider, maybe it's set to a low percentage? If this didn't work, remove the 'objects.dat' file and start GA-Traffic new. It will read all stock airports. After that you must use 'Collect data' to get your additional airports. If this all not help, save the 'AircraftNames.dat' and 'AircraftTypes.dat', uninstall GA-Traffic remove the whole 'GA-Traffic' folder and reinstall. After installation you can copy the 'Aircraft*.dat' files back and try it again. Please post if one of the tips help.
May 19, 200422 yr Markus thank you I will try this tonight. Luckily I saved an old "flightplans-GA.txt" file so I have been using that for now until I can get the program to generate a new one bigger than 1MB!Settings slider is just under 100% by the way.RegardsAdam
May 19, 200422 yr OK Markus tried both your suggestions. Sadly doesnt help. Tried generating another flightplan and it worked for about 10 seconds then stopped. I got a flightplan-GA file of about 187k:-(Have reverted back to my original flightplan file (60MB) which I had saved.RegardsAdam
May 20, 200422 yr Hi Adam, very strange.Last thing to test is install 'GA-Traffic' in a different folder and DON'T use 'Collect data', change nothing on the planes and test. If this also didn't work I have no idea. I think you must have installed a plane or airport which crash the Flightplan generation. This was never reported before. Could you zip you 'Aircraft*.dat' files and send them to me? ([email protected])
May 20, 200422 yr MarkusWill do tonight - thanks again for your attention and advice.RegardsAdam Moore
May 21, 200422 yr ZIP sent last night. Hope can be sorted out. Is there a new version coming along soon I wonder?Would be nice to start the prog with NO aircraft and add one by one.ThanksAdam
May 25, 200422 yr Hi Adam, sorry to check this special problem I must make some program changes to use your files. I hope to find the time this weekend.Sorry :-)
June 3, 200422 yr Happy to report that my problem with GA-TRAFFIC has gone away after I uninstalled the program and cleared my registry of entries relating to it. Have reinstalled on my C: drive and all is ok:-)RegardsAdam
