Exterior Lighting

Featured Replies

I am very glad to see in the videos that the timing and sychronicity of the strobes and beacons is pretty realistic on the 737 NGX. That has been a frustration with me ever since I started the hobby with FS98. How come it took so long for anyone to get that right? The 737 will be my first PMDG plane, so I don't know if they have always done that, and I only hope the Triple 7 gets them right too. That wil be my second PMDG purchase

Probably because PMDG has connections...

Yeah the lighting really is the best I've ever seen. I've always had my Landing Lights off (in FSX Menu not on the actual Plane) because it just looks so unrealistic you can't even see the ground in front. However PMDG made their own for the NGX which honestly up there on my favourite feature list. I'm sure the 777 will get it along with the Ground Strobes, Nav & Beacons.

The NGX's strobe and beacon timings came straight from the manufacturer of the lights. It wasn't even really "connections" per se - we just called the company, told them what we were trying to do and someone there gave us the data.

I ask myself the same thing. The developer doesn't even need to call the manufacturer. Just go to an airport, make a short movie of the airplane, then get a stopwatch and note how long the lights take to blink.

I sat under 25R's departure path at KPHX doing exactly that for an hour one night filming NGs taking off before RSR just called them haha.

Always funny to hear Mr.Randazzo trolling Just%20Kidding.gif

On the more serious side, that takes dedication, and dedication is what sets PMDG way infront of the others.

Maybe PMDG should make all add-ons.
