April 21, 201214 yr I'm seeing building gables flattened out horizontally rather than standing vertically. Has anyone seen this before? Would appreciate your help in correcting it. Thanks Joe Brown
April 21, 201214 yr Hello Joe, Looks like custom scenery to me. You'll have to contact the author of that package if you don't know how to fix it yourself. Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
April 22, 201214 yr Turn off FTX when flying outside of FTX coverage. regards, Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
April 22, 201214 yr Author Thanks for the replies. I admit I know nothing about scenery design but, I'm hoping for a few helpful pointers. Joe, turning off FTX does not solve the issue. I have discovered that if i set AutoGen at "Sparse", the buildings in question do not appear so, it must be an autogen building file. In looking at those files in the FSX/Texture folder, I see there are several roof_top and roof_side bbs files. Again, I'm assuming it must be one of these. There are a series of BLD_roof_top_ XXX.dds files. Where XXX= K01, L01, O01, and BLD_roof_side_XXX.dds with the same K,L and O codes. There are 2 series of these files, one has an extra LM piece of code ie, BLD_roof_top_L01_LM.dds, that is dated 6/24/2009. The other does not have the "LM" and is dated 11/2/2010. I suppose I could disable each of these, one at a time, start FSX and try to discover the problem that way. The buildings I'm looking at all seem to be in the Caribbean and southern USA tropics. Does some part of that file code indicate geographical area? That would help in narrowing down the choice of files. Am I on the right track? Thanks again, Joe Joe Brown
April 22, 201214 yr The problem is with RoofDescriptions.spb. Many addons mess with this file without understanding the ramifications.
April 22, 201214 yr Author GHD, Thanks for the reply. When I search my FSX folder I see that I have 4 copies of this file. One in FSX Autogen, 2 in FSX\ORBX\Scripts (Backup and Custom.na) and one in FSX\ORBX\Scripts\FTX Central\ InstallBackup. If I replace the one in Autogen with the one in InstallBackup, will that take care of it? Joe Joe Brown
April 23, 201214 yr If I replace the one in Autogen with the one in InstallBackup, will that take care of it? I'm sorry Joe, I don't know. All I do know is that Orbx screwed my version and I needed to do a repair. George
