Just d/l and installed Lamont Clark's Autothumbnail v2 fromn the library. Says I should see a new additon to the addons drop down menu in FSX but I see nothing. Sent him an email but the file was released in 2007 so I thought I would give a shout here too for any advice.

thx,

Mmmm.... 11,000+ downloads.... maybe somebody got it to work. My email was just kicked back so his address appears to no longer be valid

I had it working in vista just fine but can't get it to work in windows 7.

I am no done flying til you pry the joystick out of my cold dead hands

Isn't it a 32bit app. You running windows 64? It so simple to create thumbnails using paint, I never used it.

ArDee

I have it working but I can't for the life of me remember what I did specifically for Windows 7 (64 bit).

When I installed it I placed the installed files directly in the FSX folder. (F:\FSX\Autothumbnail\)

One thing I DO remember is that you have to manually replace the original Autothumbnail.exe with is different one which is specifically for Vista or Windows 7.

The original file had a date of 12/03/2006 and a size of 28kb. The replacement file is dated 29/11/2009 and has a size of 21kb. I got this replacement file by downloading Autothumbnail_Fix.zip.

Finally for items to appear in the menu of FSX, modifications are needed to one of the XML Configuration files. I believe that these were done for me automatically by the original installation setup process. I did NOT do the manual install.

The change on my system was made to the EXE.xml file.

Well, that's probably what I need, is that 2009 exe. I see nothing in the library here (or others). Googled, but found nothing. Do you this you could email me that .exe?

The fix I used has now been loaded to the Library.

Please search for Autothumbnail.

Please be aware that there is absolutely no support!!
