May 3, 201214 yr It would be a benefit to them if they used requirement documents from the FS series instead of redesigning everything. I think they are shooting for more efficiency with more functions. I assume allocating big blocks of memory upfront will still be faster than allocating the memory throughout game play. If they have a good map, might as well stick with it or something close.
