Rex will not work

Featured Replies

Strangest problem, one I have not experienced for myself or read of others having the same thing. Need your help.

Had FSX set up on 120g SSD, and FSX on another 120g SSD. Ran out of room on FSX SSD, needing about double the space for all my addons, decided to reinstall FSX on reformatted 640G WD 64-cache Black Caviar.

So I reinstalled windows 7-64 on reformatted 120g SSD, and FSX on the 640g. So far, almost done, up to a little under 100g, with about 50% more to do. Went to load REX, but no deal. Here is what happens. I unzip Rex2.0Full.

When I click on it , it begins to unload wrapper without presenting form for asking for the Flight Sim stores order number, date of purchase and key. It just begins unwrapping as if it was already registered, which it is not since all is a new installation.

It does its green bar thing over and over but gets absolutely nowhere, because it does not have the opening codes because for some reason it is not talking with the Flight Sim Store. This goes on time and again all night. I am stumped.

The thought of not having Rex is scary, and the thought of having to pay for it again maddening. The only thing that might work would be another reset from the Flight Sim store, but they do not even have download links for REX in my account.

Tim, if you are around, please try to help. Thanks.

Stephen, you know where to find us 24-7, and receive help almost immediately. ;)

The unwrapping is not asking for your info because the registry key is still stored on your system. It's designed this way for easy reinstall.

Can you advise how long you have had the .exe file in your possession? It seems as if it's corrupt. Also, have you logged into your account at FSS and verified you do not have the links available anymore? Please advise, and if not I will contact Adrian and we'll take care of this asap. You will be taken care of, no worries.

Edit: Just realized this was on a newly installed OS... the file is most likely corrupt. Let me know about FSS please.

Hi Tim,

Great Service!

I just re-registered with your REX Forum moments ago. I checked on FSS and there are no REX download links for my account. I will PM you the order number, date and code. For some reason I have not been able to make Rex overdrive work in the last installation either. No blaming you guys, for I imagine it is all my fault. It usually is. It's getting frustrating as I have been loading sceneries, planes and utilities for days, and still not flying! :)

Kind regards,

PS: You got a PM

All is now corrected and working like a charm. This is the reason I love REX. Top notch service, and not just because I am an admin at AVSIM! They have been excellent in every way, right from the beginning since I bought their product on December 1, 2008. Looking forward to their next hyperjump, REX Essentials.

Kind regards,

I agree REX is great!!!!!! It's too bad I can only have one pic on my sig.
