Looking for free 777

Featured Replies

Hello everyone.

As title says, I'm looking for some freeware 777 (i prefer -200, both cargo and pax) and I want help from more experienced simmers as I'm really not into tubeliners. I found Project Opensky, but there are over 30 model packages and 5 types of VC... FSX, SP2A, VC>SP2A... it's a little confusing.

All I want is some decent looking external model and functional virtual cockpit. That's why I don't wanna pay for it, I'm really not into programing FMC and following procedures and accurate simulation, when it gets to airliners, I just want to have fun with it and do some screenshots. I tried to download a package from simviation, but there were missing textures on engines and half of the gauges weren't even working, so I don't wanna spend another hour waiting for another package I don't know at all.

Any advice? What is really worth downloading? Thank you.

Cheers, George.

You are out of luck mate.

Decent looking external model is what you got from Opensky. You can use default boeing VC for it...

CLS (payware) makes another decent looking model with some VC, but not a functional virtual cockpit.

Nothing else is FSX compatible AFAIK.

Posky has some packages on the avsim library, all in one so you don't have to download separate anything. Look for them here, I am sure some of the major airline repaints have the model included.

Captain Sim has a 777 but no virtual cockpit

I have a Project Opensky 777 with a pretty good VC (for freeware), think I got it from simviation. The VC is not very FPS friendly though.

That's the one I use. Download the "Boeing 777-300ER Air Canada" from here.

Then get the "jb 777 panel" from the avsim file library. It includes instructions for installing it to the open sky model.

And yes, it's quite heavy on the fps.

I have that setup, got the latest Virgin Australia paint on it, fps is heavy from what I remember, on a GA and military kick so haven't been near the big iron for a while.

Thanks guys, I already dowloaded some packages a did my T7 "frankenstein" style. And you are right, it's pretty fps heavy, but on the other hand it looks very good for a freeware.

By the way - does anyone have a A2A 3d lights setup for this bird?

Cheers, George.
