May 18, 201214 yr Hi, I'm considering a certificate for ultralights. Much cheaper :-) Wonder if somebody out there knows of ultralight aircrafts for the FSX (pay- or freeware).? Best Regards Lars

May 18, 201214 yr Thumbs up for Ant's planes all the way. Aerosoft also has a Aerolites Falcon in place and the guy who made that one also offers some freeware models. Maybe search for Dave Rowberry. I don't know if it fits, but Aerosoft's Dimona is a great plane.
May 18, 201214 yr The Drifter is a great model for an ultralight. Probably the best. Not crazy about Aerosoft's Falcon, if only because of the obnoxious droning of the engine. But if you're thinking of training for UL, then perhaps it's worth having. The Drifter is lots better. Tim (Piglet) did a very good freeware ultralight, available here: http://www.avsimrus....-890-30565.html There's a freeware Challenger out there, but I don't remember where. I stopped using it a long time ago. The ones mentioned above are a lot better. To tell you the truth, though, even for flying an ultralight, you can probably not do better than getting the A2A Cub with Accusim. Perhaps the most realistic flight model in an addon. It's basic stick and rudder, seat of the pants flying, and the thing only does about 75 mph! Lands at 30! Pretty much ultralight speed range.
May 18, 201214 yr Yep, the A2A J3 is very good choice also. What I especially like about the Drifter however is the 3D pit is wide open so panning left or right, up or down, gives me a less fettered view in all directions than with any other aircraft I can think of. Just this afternoon I flew Yellowstone Park in the ORBX world at 300 feet off the deck at 50 knots. Sweet! I hope when ORBX gets around to Yosemite with their west coast release(s) they give it the same quality treatment to the points of interest there. Frank L.T

May 19, 201214 yr Author I have the A2A J3 and enjoy flying it very much. I like Cessna 185 too. Sound is fantastic! Than you all for the recommandations.
