May 27, 201214 yr Author Sure, I agree it was a crazy stunt, but I remember being one of a very few guys in 1975 launching myself from a hill on the Marlborought downs, hung from a contraption that has developed into a very sophisticated sport we now know as Hang Gliding. I remember people thought I was a complete nutter and none of my friends could understand why I would want to do such a thing. But things develop and grow, and they often grow into something that is completely different from the original idea. Although the original idea may have been lost along the way amongst all the development, it often is nevertheless a launchpad for such 'new sports.'
