June 18, 201213 yr Moderator Ok I thought ASE was newer than AS2012 as AS2012 doesn't come with any textures yet it has texture/snapshot features which makes no sense. Other way around - ASE does not come 'with' textures - AS2012 is the weather engine PLUS full textures. RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

Good to know
June 19, 201213 yr I don't know if that's what you mean but you can use both programs (ASE and As2012 independently). David DD David
June 20, 201213 yr While the cirrus look better I still think Rex textures look better over all, but I use them both. I thought that too at the beginning and used REX textures but I find myslef using AS2012 textures more and more because some are really impressive and much "smoother" than REX. I must say in defense of As2012 that I haven't used the textures extensively so maybe I'll feel different in a few months. David DD David

There are so many possibilities in both addons it's almost impossible to try all the combinations. In my opinion, some AS2012 textures are better than REX and some REX are better than AS2012. What I meant was that, like many here, I was using REX textures exclusevly with AS2012 weather engine but I found out that AS2012 textures are very good also.
