Amen, the old library is back. I did not get much time on the new system, but the lack of being able to scan 100's of items in a short time was a definite set back. PLZ, plz leave the library format as is...we really don't nn new fancy colors etc. It is the information which is supplied that counts, not the "modern" look

Sometimes, it's worth taking a chance. I'm one of those guys who keeps cars and computers running forever, not swapping them out for newer models until they just won't do the job anymore.

Computers are worse.

Microsoft starts out OK, but then the operating systems slowly get larger and more cumbersome, using increasingly more resources, until the systems that used to run just fine bog down and become hopelessly sluggish. It becomes time to upgrade.

Our hosts deserve credit for the effort they put forth into making this a great place to be. We don't always succeed the first time. Fortunately, this isn't parachute jumping, so give them another chance or two.

Exactly. And they charge nothing for it.

While the format may be fine, unfortunately the software that runs the Library is (in computer lifespan) truly ancient and sorely in need of being replaced by new code that's both maintainable and flexible.

The person who wrote the code hasn't been available for quite awhile now, and there's no way for anyone else to assume "ownership" of the existing code for any number of reasons.

Hence the very real need to find a replacement system that will provide the functionality, flexibility, modularity, and maintainability desired. This is not a trivial task, nor will it be inexpensive.
